This is what I was going to suggest also. At least until you can get him to the vet.

Did his mom chew the cord, or did you cut it? If she did, maybe she pulled on it too hard.

I am afraid the mother no doubt chewed the intestines off, treating them like an umbilical cord...it was not her fault. It will be best to have him put down..so sorry..

Oh my...thoughts and prayers are with you and your little guy. I would take him to a vet ASAP though, too seek their medical advice.
