| here is the original thread: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86808 we are in memphis now. heading to Dallas, TX villette...if you want...we can meet up some time tomorrow???? dallas is not exactly houston...but compared to Nashville, it is close just let me know. pm me and i will give you my number if you are interested in meeting up. our navigation puts us in Dallas at around 7pm, it is a 9 hour trip...but we are adding in extra time for potty breaks so we are thinking more like 8pm at this point. we'll see we just made our first potty stop and maya immediately went potty...i'm so proud of her!!! someone asked if i was sad to see her go..OF COURSE!! it has been a rough few days because she really hadn't caught on to anything...but yesterday and today she has really shown signs that she is catching on to the way things go she is going potty when we take her out...she does not cry when in her crate anymore...she is walking on her leash better... so...now, it is really sad to see her go she is such a sweetheart. she loves to cuddle, loves to be carried, loves to be around people. her mommy is one lucky gal to have her as a pup the first few days, she would SCREAM if she had to go in her crate. but i wanted to make sure she got used to it, so i had her sleeping in there at night. and of course, when we were not in the house to watch her, she stayed. now, se seems quite comfy in it. which i think is good, because her mommy is in an apartment and a screaming pup in an apartment is not always a good thing LOL. since we live in a house it didn't cause any problems. yesterday she got a bath with cowboy magic and some good smelling conditioner...she got combed good...which she HATED...and is now so incredibly soft and smells lovely so maya should be right as rain when her mommy gets her ok...so far the trip is going great. no hold ups at all. the dogs are doing wonderful. we brought lots of water, the a/c is nice and cold, they have plenty of toys and things to keep them occupied, and it is even teaching maggie to share her crate (i have both dogs in the same crate...so they can snuggle LOL). you have to understand, maggie is so super possessive of her crate. in fact, when i went to put it in the car, she freaked out. she thought i was getting rid of it, i guess. she went nuts. and when i first put maya in there with her, she was not happy. but she quickly got used to it and now they can just be travel buddies LOL will update some more as the trip progresses

Sarah, I put this on the other thread also. I am fine with this being late, that's cool with us. However, if YOU would rather we keep her with us until later on Friday morning that's fine. You can also pick her up on Saturday. But hubby says don't wait too long or we might keep her!! j/k!!

| Hi Everyone, It looks like plans have changed some, and I won't get to meet Maya this time around. That's fine with us, whatever is best for everyone is the way to go. Sarah, just remember that we are here if you need anything while you are in Waco. I can't wait to get together when Maya is a little older. We're less than two hours from Austin, so if you need anything let me know. Stay safe everyone, and have a great trip. Post lots and lots of photos please.

| Wow! I just found this thread. I've been looking all day for updates on the Train thread. No wonder there wasn't anything. Well, I just talked to Sarah and they are headed north through Waco to meet Patty and get little Maya in about an hour. I hope she has a carrier to travel in 'cause I told Sarah she would and she didn't bring her crate. I hope she brought a potty pad! (She did, don't worry.) Mandee, thanks for taking such good care of little Maya. I'm sure she smells W o n d e r f u l! Maybe Sarah can put a bell by the balcony door for Maya to use. Of course, where she would potty on the balcony I don't know. Some turf? I'm glad you got her used to the crate. That will help alot! Thank you thank you! |
