| PlayPen for Sky Pie?? So I spoke with some people yesterday about putting my baby in a play pen instead of crating her during the day. I was told to use a metal fence thing that goes through the crate so she can have a little bed and a play area. But I also thought of a child's platic play pen. What have you guys done?? Just curious |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Don't use a play pen with mesh - they can climb or chew (believe me - I have a brand new one LOL) also you have to worry about them getting their heads stuck if using one with bars - I would go with an X Pen - it's much safer |

| hmmm i think it depends on the dog and how old lacey has gone in a paly pen since i got her at 8 weeks and begs to go in there, it almost like its her little get away. she hasnt ever jumped out or ripped the mesh.

It's a Yorkie Thing Donating Member | My sister using a playpen for her momma dogs when they give birth, so they can see out and still feel that thier with the family. It works well for her.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I used a dog playpen and Cali loved it she would go in to it when I got ready to leave and was fine in it. Never climbed out and never chewed. Pixie on the other hand the first week I had her (she was 13 months old when I got her) chewed her way out. The hole was so tiny we didn't see it the first time we came home and she was at the door waiting. So I guess it depends on the puppy

| We tried a baby play pen and my puppy learned to climb out within a few weeks. We then switched to a large pop-up kennel that zips up and within a month he had scratched a hole in it! I am thinking of getting a large crate to leave him in when we are out. (One that would have enough room for his pee-pad, food & water, and for him to play.) I know he is safe in the crate and he seems to like the small one that he sleeps in at night-I just don't like to leave him in the little one when we are out for more than one hour. |
