Your welcome :) |
Candidae is a fantastic food. Much better than Nutro. My crew loved Candidae but the local feed store stopped carrying so now my kids get Wellness. I would love to go back to Candidae when we move if its available in our new town. I would get it shipped, but with the amt I have to feed my pittie each month, shipping breaks me. |
I had Baby on Artemis, and she loved it. But then she started vomiting. So I switched her. I was debating between Canidae and Innova. I chose the Innova, and she loves that. I'm sure she'd love the Canidae too. :p |
We use Innova now, but the only place I've found that carries it locally has a hard time selling it so you have to watch the dates! Bummer!! |

I don't know the price of Nutro now, we did raise our Cassie on Nutro lamb and rice dry formula and she had a long life of being healthy, but we switched Baby Blessing to the Canidae Dry Food For All Sizes and also give it to DollieDae, they love it. We get ours through the Feed Stores as our local pet stores don't carry this brand. I switched when our friend TophersMom here at YT told us how well hers did on it. I don't care what price a food is, if it is quality food for them, that is all we want. We prefer to feed the dry foods. I give the girls baby carrots cut up in tiny pieces as a treat and call them carrot cookies :) the word carrot cookies really turns them on with excitement :) Wishing you a happy and enjoyable time here at Yorkie Talk, nice to meet you. We just switched Lucy to Canidae as well as my mom's two older yorkies, since Lucy was eating their food and vice versa. They seem to like it, but I have been mixing it with Nutro Max puppy and Eukunuba puppy since we already had the bags and I don't want it to go to waste. But after those are all gone she will be on strictly Canidae. We use the All life stages kind, it has made her go poo more though, but at least they are solid. |
Artimas has 29% and 30% protein........Are our babbies supposed to have that much? I thought I had read that it needs to be under 28%?????? |
nutro made tede sick I switched to artimas. love the small bites. would of done candies but he would not eat it jg |
We have noticed that their tearing is much less, their fur is shiny and a big plus Baby Blessing quit scratching :) We always feed ours seperately so we know for sure the amount each eat DollyDae is a bit fussy, she has to have a tiny bit of Trader Joe's cottage cheese blended on hers, MY FAULT. Our personal preference is not to free feed, makes it nice that they each do their number just about the same time twice a day. The Canidae we feed is The All Life Stage, for all ages. just ordered i just ordered canidaw dry food, wet food and treats. Shipping really got me but the dog food really wasnt that expensive. $25 for a 16.5 lb bag. I hope my baby likes it, shes worth it! |
When I recently got my little guy a couple of weeks ago, he was on Eukanuba. We switched him to Innova because Canidae doesn't make puppy food and our vet told us that puppies and adults have different needs. Maybe I will switch him to Canidae when he is older. What does everyone think about a good puppy food vs. all life stages like Canidae? |

You don't have to worry about your pup getting enough nutrients if it is an all life stages food. Before I started homecooking, my maltese used to eat all life stages food, and she did not have any problems :) Here is an excerpt from their website: www.canidae.com In nature your pets couldn’t choose between a puppy, kitten, or light formulation, only a diet of mainly meats and small amounts of grain. They simply eat more or less, depending on age and activity levels. CANIDAE and FELIDAE both contain more than 50% of high quality meat proteins. We have also included digestive enzymes that closely resemble those found in nature. Puppies will require a higher caloRic and calcium phosphorous intake than an adult dog would, therefore we suggest feeding twice as much to puppies up to 6 months of age. Our standard recommended feeding guidelines for an adult dog is 1 cup for every 25lbs of body weight. You can be assured with 468 kcal per cup, your puppy will be getting more than most standard puppy foods on the market. |
