| My hubby didn't want a Yorkie, he thought they were ugly. He wanted a french bull dog. I didn't care really I love dogs in general. I wanted a Yorkie because my mom and dad have one and I just recently moved out and was missing her. Now he loves Yorkies! Same with my dad. He said no inside dogs, well Baby warmed up his heart quickly.

My hubby wouldn't let me get a Yorkie when I was 21....we got a Bearded Collie instead, AND SHE WAS LOVELY.....but when she was 11, (yes, I moaned at him for eleven years !!!) he relented when I wasn't well after major surgery age 32(that's when to get 'em lol) and he got me tiny Tara from a breeder. She was 6 weeks, and soooo small. Tara looked after our Beardie, Trixie(below) in her last year when she had bone cancer....and then my hubby got another Beardie Tasha for himself, (though now he says he would just have the wee dogs, as they are fab, and he won't get any more big dogs after Tasha) ......and I got two more older Yorkies, Casper and Tammy....each time I was unwell, lol. Guess what....I have got more major surgery next month.......No I musn't ! Three babies are enough, lol !!!! Debra x x x x Age 39 AND COUNTING....Yes, he could get one for my 40th birthday in 2 weeks, HEE HEE Trixie RIP Tara age 7 Casper age 4.5 Tammy age 4 | |

| My husband didn't want to get a yorkie, but he knows how bad I've wanted one for years. He told me that as long as I did all the taking care of him, he didn't care. And, he said the dog was not sleeping with us. Well, he's in love with Jake and babies him and spoils him as much as me. And, Jake has been sleeping with us since day one. And, now HE wants another one as much as I do. I love that he loves Jake.

| My hubby wanted nothing to do with a little phoo phoo dog. Now he get's all excited with Piper and Penny. He even encourages me to dress Penny up so she'll look pretty. Men are strange aren't they?

| Dave wasn't against getting a Yorkie, but the 2nd day we had her we took her to Pet Smart & he immediately handed me the leash to walk her in. He said it wasn't "manly" for him to walk her. By the 4th day we had her he was taking her w/ him by himself on errands. Now when we're getting ready to take her for a walk he puts her dress on her. He does it because my daughter's love showing her off in her dress, but I still never thought I'd see him "dressing" a dog! When the girls and I came home the other day he had her all dressed up waiting for us. Too funny!

| Don The Dog Hater Ayuh. He never had a puppy or a dog growing up and was unhappy that I came to him with my dog (dachshund X poodle) when we met in 1998. But I told him "Love me, love my dog." As Pogo got older, I told him I wanted to get a puppy for Pogo to mentor, since Pogo was the perfect gentleman. Don The Dog Hater said that when Pogo died there would be no more dogs. I told him I wouldn't live life without a dog. He told me that my dog and could live elsewhere. I said "Fine with me!". But our anniversary and my birthday were coming up. And I kept asking for a puppy, thinking I would like a pug. One day the Dog Hater said, out of the blue, "Okay, you can get a puppy, but it HAS to be a Yorkie!" I told him that a terrier might not be a great choice for a Dog Hater. Lots of energy, in your face attitudes, etc. But he said "Yorkie or nothing, even though I especially don't like frou frou dogs." Guess who are best buds? Guess who is spoiled rotten by The Dog Hater? Guess who now looks at me and says "Never make me choose between you and Higgins?" The man has come to me with TEARS in his eyes thanking me for bringing this little "person" into his life. Observation: Have you noticed that the more "manly" the man, the smaller the dog? Sign of a self assured male. Note: My beloved Pogo was a wonderful mentor to Higgins before he died of cancer at age 14. |
