Need some help 3 Attachment(s) Hi Yt'ers Most of you know that I lost Lilly a few days ago. My home just doesn't feel like a home at this moment. I have been doing some thinking and I'm going to do my homework but after I'm done paying the loan I took out to pay for Lilly's surgery I want to get another girl. I know this might not sound good but I do know I want her to look like Lilly. Ive received different feedback but I made up my mind. I also want her to be about 4 lbs & silky coat just like Lilly was.. I mean if she goes over that weight thats no problem. I think doing this is going to make me complete again. I know that it will not bring Lilly back but at least I'll have that familiar face around again which I miss. I'm going to attach some pics of Lilly so if anyone knows of a breeder or has a baby that looks like my girl and can give me the breeder info I would appreciate it. I'm not looking for now but I know I do want another one in the future. I hope you guys can understand where I'm coming from. |
OMG! I am so sorry to hear about Lilly! I hope you can reunion with her!! Or find a new yorkie just like her...good luck!! |

I think its a wonderful idea. Anyone who has lost a baby knows your new one will never take the place of sweet Lilly. I firmly believe it's good and healthy to get another baby. Good luck in your search. |

Gloria, I know this is tough but I think you are doing the absolute right thing! When we put Scruffy down in 1997 (at 11.5 years, dying of cancer) I DID NOT WANT ANOTHER DOG -- EVER. I'd had several pets die, but never had to be the one to make that decision before. The pain was unbearable. The next night, when I came home from work, it only got worse. No greeting at the door. No barking and squeaky toy fit. No one trying to play or jockeying to get the better position on the couch.:( My mother took it even harder than I did because Scruff really did love her more. By the end of the first week, she had already found a breeder. I didn't even want to go. She twisted my arm and said we were just going to "look" at puppies. But then there was Ozzie -- and I knew there was no way we were leaving there without him. :) Ozzie chose ME that day and he has been my best little buddy ever since. I dont know how I will cope when his day comes. It may take a pair of Yorkies to help fill the hole because I know it will be like having my heart removed with a dull spoon. Ozzie is not Scruffy. (and in many ways, that's a GOOD thing!:) ) Another dog would never be Ozzie. All they can do is help you heal, give you somewhere to put all that love you have with nowhere to go. And soon, you will love them just for being them. Lots of hugs as you start to look for a new furry friend to love.:) |
I think it's a nice tribute to her memory - I know people will tell you not to compare other yorkies to her - but we all do it in small ways - I do it with my girls and sometimes catch myself ...they are ALL unique in their own little personalities - even those that look alike.... I wish you all the best in your search |
2 Attachment(s) This is my Amber. She just had a baby boy. LOL One. I think she looks alot like your Lily in the face. Amber weighs 4 1/2 lbs. She's not for sale but I thot you might like to see her. These are not the best pictures of her but other than the colors I think their faces look alike. Sylvia |
I just read Lily's story in the RIP thread and I must say my heart goes out to you and your family. There's trully so much love for your little one in your words. I sincerely understand your feelings and I feel it's absolutely legitimate that you should want to get a new lil one as close as her as possible. My first yorkie, Sally, died over six years ago and when some four months later I got Rubi, it was Sally's physical appearance I had in mind. They are in fact so much alike, physically, I mean. I wish you the best of luck in your search. I think thinking about a new one always help to heal the wounds.:rainbow: |
Thanks all...I was a little hesitant at first to post this because I wasn't sure if I was going to get the support....but I knew you guys would respect my feelings. |
I'm so sorry to hear about your baby & good luck on your search. |
i think that is a wonderful idea. I hope when your ready you can find a little girl that look similar to lilly hugs to you |

I think she looks alot like Annika. |
I was totally opposite, I wanted a baby that looked nothing like Starr. Luna looked much different as a puppy, but it's odd....she looks more and more like Starr as she grows:love: It's kind of nice, so I understand completely where you're coming from. Hugs:girl_hug: |
I'm sorry to hear about your loss and I hope you can find another baby to fill that hole in your heart! I know what your going through. my mom had a female yorkie. and she wasnt in perfect health when we got her. we went directly to the vet next day to have her checked. and she had COPD and bad trachea. we called the lady we got her from. and she just didn't seem to care. and mom said i can't take her back to that woman she will just kill her. so we treated her with medicine and she was doing good for a while but got worse. 4 months ago we had to put her down and it was the hardest thing we ever had to do. its like saying you have to tell your skin family goodbye. my mom and i both said we didnt want another. but every morning it was weird i would wake up every morning at 7 am like i would if Toddie( RIP) was still here. to take her out but there was no Toddie and when i got home from the store it was really weird. so everyday i searched the papers. and i found Cody. or should i say he found me! he cant replace toddie. but he sure does bring joy back to my heart! i hope you find that special baby girl your looking for |

Hi, is Luna the lighter colored one? If so how did you know she would be so light as to match her name? She is just beautiful! Sylvia |
I understand how you feel. You're not trying to replace Lilly, you're just trying to fill the void that she left. I feel the same way, and I am waiting for puppies to be born next month. I'm torn as to whether I should get another girl, but I keep leaning toward a boy. I think Jake would love a brother to romp around with, and I love the disposition of the boys. Maybe there's a part of me that's scared of another girl, I'm not sure. But, I hope you find just what you're looking for. Lilly was beautiful. RIP sweet baby girl. |
I thinks thats a wonderful idea, and want to wish you the best when the time comes for you, and i know you will know when its right:) you are still in my thoughts & prayers:) |
Hon it's totally understandable that you want another baby. Lily will not feel slighted in the least. She was sent to you because she needed an angel to love her and care for her until it was her time. You have done just that and it's not a bad thing to want to share your love with another baby. Good luck in your search. |
1 Attachment(s) Oh Glo, I know that only YOU will know what is best to ease the pain of grieving . . . oh and yes, Annika is sooo much like your Lilly and even their personalities are so much alike so I will definitely be on the lookout for you  . I know you will fall in love again and this time it will be so much sweeter because you will always be remembering Lilly through the eyes of your new little girl who am sure will bring so much joy and hapiness to you life. Here's Annika when she was about 9 months I think :aimeeyork |

Oh Des...she is just so beautiful. Give her lots of kisses from me...and Tiger too. I think that having a 3rd baby is going to make me complete again. Today has been very hard for me...especially when I came home and I seen a card from my local vet with a packet of seeds. I finally went to her grave and I spread the seeds on top. I didn't talk to her though. I know I will soon but its a little hard right now. |
I think it's a wonderful idea. When you're ready, the right dog will find you. I am so sorry about Lilly. Your plan to get a little girl who looks like her is perfect. She can't be replaced, but she'll always be honored by her new sister. Judy |
