Therapy Dog Donating Member | Meet Izzy from Cleveland Hi everyone - just introducing ourselves today and glad to be a part of this group and hope to learn and share all things Yorkie!! Izzy is 7mos old and only weighs 2.5# - got her Memorial weekend so she's just been with us 8 short weeks. Izzy has already been to clicker puppy training and she can: sit, lay down, speak, wait, leave it, walk on lead very well, take it, and somewhat good at "go to your bed". We will be attending puppy II clicker training late August to further work on the above; then once done with that class off to tricks class. She's still working on the potty training - that has been hard - good days and bad days. She was trained on the pee-pads and still use in her pen while we are at work all day so that helps. I still want her to go outside though - she goes when we take her but she still does not give us any sign by the door that she have to go. We even bought those Poochie Bells to hang on the patio door so we are a Izzy-in-Training on this one. She is the love of my life and hope we learn and share alot by joining this group. I also posted one pic of her in the member gallery under Izzy if you care to see her.

| "Welcome" to YT. Ah... you have a tiny Yorkie girl. My Rudy weighed 4 lbs something at 8 weeks old so I don't know what it's like to have a real little one. Izzy sounds like a very smart little girl. Her potty habits will get better in time.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I used to have two male Yorkies about 17 years ago (they both lived to be about 14 years old) and they were about 8 pounds. It broke my heart when they went over to the Rainbow Bridge and it has taken me this long to get Izzy - but a friend of mine showed me her pic and the rest is history. Izzy is small but boy she sure doesn't act small...she's right up there in our 3 cats faces all the time.

| Potty Training? Potty training? OY!!!! My Higgins is as smart as a whip. Knows all kinds of tricks. Obeys us so well. BUT..... He still poops and pees in the house at night unless we crate him. And he KNOWS he's been naughty and hides under the bed when we get up in the morning if we have weakened and let him sleep with us. Now he ISN'T crated in our motorhome when we travel. And he never pees or poops in the motorhome. Just in our house. He's 3 1/2 years old. We have given up. We crate him at night, mostly, and shampoo the pee spots when we don't crate him. sigh....... |
