| hi new yorkie Hi, I just got a Yorkie pup. He is 14 weeks old and 5 lbs. His father was small and mother was medium size. I wonder how big my little guy will be. He is great, pretty much potty trained, goes outside or on wee wee Pad. I can't believe it. I am having trouble with him walking on a lead. If I let him walk where he wants to , it is ok, but when I try to walk where I want to go, he sits or lies down and won't budge. Any suggestions? |

| Welcome to YT. I had to put Aubrey on his leash, and you just have to take it slow, and then eventually he will catch on. Good lucK! |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | Welcome....I would say a bit of work and a lot of patience...they can be stubborn. Maybe try luring him with treats while he is on the leash. Positive reinforcements and bribes works well with these guys...lol. Sounds like you will have a healthy sized baby. I was looking for the growth chart but I can't find it. I would guess to say some where about 9 or so pounds. The thing is sometimes they can have growth spurts or they just might not grow. Either way lots of baby to love.

| Welcome to YT! Your baby might be 9-10ish pounds fully grown. Just an estimate..I'm not an expert. Can't wait to see pics of your baby!

| Glad you found YT I used to breed Bichons, and my male when he was a pup really didn't know what to do with being on leash. He hated the idea of being led around or even the leash itself. To help him adjust I would put the leash on him and let him drag it around, so he got used to the feeling. With time, I would pick up the leash and lead him, it didn't take long before he would walk on the leash in an appropriate manner. yorkiesmiles |

| Welcome, and letting him get use to the leash may be all you can do for a little while. Once he gets used to it try to get him to atleast come to you. Sit down hold the leash and call come. This way your starting to show your the boss. Then slowly try directing him. It'll come in time.
