Weird Sophie keeps barking at a specific space in my house, idk why. She keeps walking around it and barking but nothing's there. Does anyone elses yokie do this? |
Not sure how superstitious you are but they say that animals see and sense the presence of others (spirits, ghosts...which ever term you are comfortable with). I do believe that it happens so I would venture to say that is what is going on. |

Lulu and my cat April will do it from time to time. We always automatically say that it's my MIL back to visit...lol. Don't be scared. Some animals I guess are more protective and I guess the right word would be intuitive to things like that. |
Whew my bf came! Finally   She stopped for now..I hope its nothing |
Ziggy did that when we first brought him home...staring and barking at one spot. We think it was our Sheltie who died suddenly of a heart problem. It really made me cry because Willie would've loved Ziggy. Also, sometimes Ziggy will stare intently right above my head like he sees a ghost...it really freaks me out. |
It could be a bug or a mouse. |
I believe it too, and I do believe in spirits so when mine do it I just kind of walk away. |

I usually laugh and tell Lulu say hi to grandma (I know you never met her)...she is checking in on us and means no harm. After a minute or so she will start to calm down but still sit and watch that spot. |
mouse! edgar did this for a while. i thought he was being silly. then we started finding droppings and eaten food. |

Oh dear! Daisy does this at night sometimes when we're about to all go to bed. (Daisy sleeps by herself in the living room couch or her crate in pen.) She runs to the back door and barks and huffs. I think she may just be hearing something outside (mouse, stray cat, squirrel, whatever is in our backyard  ) I'm sure it's not a ghost or some "spirit"! |

Yea she was sniffing the air and doing it, so maybe she just smells the 'spirits'. |
Stedman has done that before (Tatum doesn't bark, so  LOL). But the thing that freaks me out the most is when he does it AT NIGHT while we are laying in bed  Omg, I HATE when he does that! Scares the crap out of me. lol. The end of our bed faces the hallway - and at night of course we leave our bedroom door open and the hall is pitch black. Well Stedman will walk over to the end of the bed and just stand there and STARE down the hall and bark and GROWL like he is just staring something dead in the face and it totally freaks me out!! Oh yeah, and it's REAL FUN when he does this and my hubby is out of town for work for the night and I'm home alone! ;)  |

Who knows. They could hear the air, like you said, or there could be some little bug flying around... who knows. They will bark at anything. |
Ok now she's doing it again, but now kinda at the floor but looking straight ahead. Could it be my dead dog Charlie? |
I would friek out. Aubrey has done that before when we were just home alone..... I wanted to kill him. I was scarred at that point. |
She's really growling and her ears are moving back and forth. I picked her up and she's still doing it in my arms. |

Yea it's the worst when you're alone!! Good thing everyone's here now:D |
My first dog used to bark at a specific, and empty corner of the living room, totally freaked me out. I don't know if I necessarily believe in spirits or ghosts, but anytime I would be home alone for the night I always felt uncomfortable. When I moved out i had no problems being home alone at night, and now since we just moved about a month ago into a house some strange things have happened, and one instance it happened a few times, i said, "thank you, that's enough, knock it off" and it stopped instantly. I'm not saying that proves anything but being alone there doesn't bother me, my hubby had an out of state wedding i couldn't attend our first weekend in and i wasn't bothered or nervous at all. |
