| Busy day yesterday So I took my boys with some friends and their kids for a LLLOOONNNGGG walk yesterday! It was pretty warm out, like mid 70s and breezy so it was a GORGEOUS day! We walked like 5 miles (with many water breaks)!!! My boys mainly did really good, but at one point I had to carry Fletcher cuz he would not drink water and when hes done hes done. He lays on the ground and WILL NOT move. So I carried him for awhile. After that my girlfriend had to get her laundry at the laundrymat and we went to get food at the food store. I had 2 kids with me and a slight dilemma, 2 kids & 2 dogs. I could not leave the kids in the car with the dogs, nor could I let the kids go into the store alone. So I said to the kids, "OK, we need xxx and we have LESS THAN 5 mins before we Have to be back in the car with the dogs, we cannot leave them alone for more than 5 mins!" I left the dogs in the car with the windows opened a bit and a bowl of water for them. We went into the store, I went one way and got stuff, they went the other way and got stuff, met at the register in under 2 mins and then were back at the car in under 5 mins. In that time, someone left a note on my car that said "Nice way to kill your dogs A$$HOLE" One of the kids is old enough to read, well they both are... so they read the note and were soooooo upset! They thought Id be upset! The girl said that the person should have waited to see how long those dogs were alone for. I kind of agree. Then again Im glad they didnt, bc I wouldnt get into a fight with someone in front of the 2 kids. I was not mad at all with the note though. I think its great that someone cared enough to leave a note. There are tons of people out there who just have no clue about dogs and taking care of them. Fortunately I am NOT one of those people! This was just a person overreacting to a situation they knew nothing about. My dogs were in NO danger being in the car for 5 mins... the AC was BLASTING before we even got out of the car, so the inside was cool enough to carry for the 5 mins we were in the store also. (plus windows down, nice breezy day, not super hot out). What upsets me though, I wish I could have told the person how educated I am about dogs and how much I love & spoil my dogs and how much I KNOW about leaving them in a car. I hate to think that someone is upset right now thinking that I (of all people) abused my dogs by leaving them in a car, when they had NO idea that the interior was cool and they had water and I was gone for less than 5 mins. Anyways, my boys were EXHAUSTED last night... I think I heard them SNORING!! they were sleeping soooo soundly!!! It was too funny!!!
