How may issues have your overcome with your Yorkie Have you faced any issues in the past or present that you have overcome with your Yorkie? We have faced, I think, almost all and have overcome all except meeting new large dogs. We're still working on it and recently Buddy became friends with one of the largest dogs in our complex, Simba. They were playing again yesterday and Simba's two front paws are the size of Buddy's head, but I am so very proud of him. He really is trying. Thanks to YT and Cecear Millan we were able to succeed. These are the issues we have faced and conquered 1. Potty training 2. Barking 3. Anxiety (leaving in the am) 3. Toy Guarding 4. Food Guarding 5. Bed Guarding Have your faced any of these challenges?

oh boy.. lol..l dont' think we have facedthat many but we have had our challenges! Layla used to have HUGE separation anxiety and now that is gone THANK GOD. She still has issues when she is around too many other dogs that she doens't know, she gets protective and snaps at them. Currently we are having problems when i pick her up at the babysitters she comes between my legs and growls and snaps at the other dogs as if to say, this is MY mom, stay away... it is frusterating because i want to pick her up when i see her but i dont' want to reward this behaviour... i think there will always be issues to overcome

I think that Potty Training would have to be my biggest obstacle that we have over come. I was just about to give up. I got Aubrey in October and it took till the end of March to get him potty trained. Also, he has learned a few tricks, with the help of Petsmart ! I am proud of my little boy!!

| I'm trying to think of an obstacle that Winston and I have overcome...The potty training with him was a breeze...I taught him early on to sit for food...no separation anxiety (I think he likes us to leave him alone to sleep)...shares his toys with us, he's not over protective with them... The one obstacle we need to work on, is socialization...he is not a social butterfly, he does not bite, he just ignores strangers...totally avoids them. Sometimes I think he's a stuck-up little snob!!!

I was beginning to think Buddy was the only Yorkie who had issues, however, they started when reaching 1yr old. Now at 3 1/2 he is just a love. I can understand why some people just can't deal with these things not understanding there are resources to help and that they are not bad dogs. Yt was a god send to us.
