I'm glad you told the manager. I probably would have made that guy call the manager over & told him in front of him. I don't know about anyone else's Petsmart, but ours has a lot of high school kids working in it. I'm not saying all high school kids are rude & don't know how to act at work, belive me I"m not, but I think sometimes they just are not taught what you can/cannot/should/shouldnot say at work. It should come naturally for most people, but just doesn't for some. For most of these kids it's their first job & they need guidance. |
If it had been a high school kid I probably could have blown it off a little easier. This was an ADULT who was probably in his late 30s early 40s. |

I'm not the type that likes owners to dress their dogs/pets frequently, or put them in the stroller... you know? But, everyone is free to do whatever they want with their pets, no one else has the right to say you shouldn't do this that... So he was rude for speaking out like that, because she's the owner and she is free to do whatever she pleases, which everyone should respect, or just shut their mouth, to avoid passing ignorance around. |

It's one thing to have an opinion about something, but when you are an employee somewhere you don't have a right to give your opinion to a customer unless asked. I work at a dog boutique and I have people call in to make an appointment for their "teacup" yorkie and I don't lecture them about teacups over the phone. I had a lady one day telling me what she fed her dog (canned beneful) and that she didn't think it mattered what you fed your dog. I have very strong opinions about feeding pets but it wasn't my place as an employee there to argue with her...I just listened to her. If someone asks my opinion on food or asks if my yorkie is a teacup, I will give them my opinion or let them know that there isn't such thing as a teacup but otherwise I just let it go. Honestly, that's why I love public forums. I get very frustrated with some of the people I have to deal with at the store sometimes and obviously can't usually say what I want to them because it would be rude...so it's nice to be able to say what I want online or when I'm not working. When you are an in a customer-service oriented job, you have to put the customer first |
You should of look right at him and said thank you for your opinion that i did NOT ask for and can you PLEASE tell me where the closest pet store is, let him put back the items you were about to purchase as you are going to find the manager, witch iam happy you did:) there is no excuse for that  |

Exactly! |
That is just crap,..I have a hard time holding my tongue sometimes and I would have probably went off on him...crying at the same time. mine is hormonal too...(lack of hormones :( ) So sorry this happened to you, but honestly I have never met a friendly petsmart employee ever:mad: |
Im soooo sorry that happened to you!!! How rude... that guy needs to get a life... it makes me so mad when ppl say like "why do u dress up ur dog.. its a DOG.. not supposed to wear clothes" same thing for PEOPLE THEN.. why do WE dress up!? we arent supposed to wear clothes either but we do anyway so why cant dogs?? if a dog doesnt mind.. then i dont see a problem and these people who comment seriously need to mind their own business if they cant say anything NICE! |

So dogs are born naked too but who says they aren't allowed to wear clothes? It's becoming much more common to dress our dogs in our society and maybe one day it will be the common thing to do. Maybe one day it will be out of the norm to see a naked dog. |

One of the main reasons that I don't like going to pet supply stores is because someone ALWAYS has to make a comment about what you're buying. When I went to PetSmart to shop for Jake's birthday, the cashier made the comment "can we say spoiled dog?" I ignored her. I rarely even take Jake to PetSmart or any of the other stores that allow dogs because I've actually had people ask me if I'm interested in breeding him. That always makes me mad! |
