People are such idiots! UGH that makes me sooo mad! Just because HE wouldn't dress HIS dog why can't he leave it alone? I've worked retail for FOUR years and I've seen people come up and buy some really ugly, ridiculous things and I NEVER EVER talked down to them.. in fact, I've always been the one to be called stupid, had people throw things at me, report me for stupid things that they didn't understand... |
|
Now that I think about it I should have told him I was against smart*ssed jerks. I guess I'm glad I didn't though. I really woudn't want to stoop to his level. |

I can't believe someone would do that!!! Don't let it upset you though, he's obviously never experienced the love of a dog ;) He shoulda kept his opinions to himself, and what did he get out of doing that? You would think if he was against it, he would've shut up because the store is still gettingmoney, regaurdless of what he thinks. Today one of my co-workers started telling me about her sister and how she treats this dog like a child, I was like "I treat mine like my children" then she say s "well yeah but she thinks this dog is her child" and I told her 'Mine are my children" and smiled...and I go to the manager "Aren't they? I even brought mine into work" and she just smiled and said "Yup you do!" The girl didn't say anything else about it afterwards. Don't let those kinda people get you down! |

What a coward!! I mean, I'm against most things that you do with your dog, BUT never will I say something like that towards you or anyone else. That is just plain rude. Hope you feel better. |

Ooh..I would have been mad. I would have said something pretty rude right back to him - something about him being an employee at a store that sells those items and that I didn't ask for his opinion and that I thought he was an @$$hole and probably would have insulted him however I could LOL. I'm nice until you piss me off and then you better watch out. So I feel sorry for whoever decides to be rude to me about my dog one day! Don't feel bad about your pet pooping or peeing in the store. Lacy pooped in Petco today. I just hate when people don't clean up after their dog or let one of the employees know about it so it can be cleaned up. |

What a jerky employee! I have people that say those kinds of things to me all the time about mine, and I only dress them up when it's cold or when we are going out to petco or petsmart... or when I feel like it actually lol. I truly believe that as long as a dog has a good life, is allowed to be a dog and get dirty and play, than why does it matter if I get enjoyment from dressing my "baby". I dislike people that ONLY use their dogs as accessories and dress them and that's it.. because that is not allowing a dog to be a dog. But celebrities have made us dog lovers that love to dress up and spoil our babies in ALL ways, look bad because they think "oh, another paris hiltion wanna be". If only they knew how much we really love our pets and give them our all. Anyhow, I'm glad you were at least compensated somewhat and that employee will get in trouble! With his attitude, he won't last long in a customer service job! *hugs* |

I have had a rude Petsmart employee make rude comments to me too. She has done it on several occasions. Once when I was buying sweaters for them she said "you aren't really going to put those on your dogs are you?" She made a similar comment to me when I bought them booties. She made me feel ridiculous. I felt like reporting her because why would a store that SELLS these items want an employee working for them that makes rude comments to you when you are buying their merchandise? I didn't want her to lose her job because she was stupid, but hey, I could have used a $25 gift cert. As far as dressing your dog goes... a lady recently told me that her dog is one who likes to crawl in small spaces and snuggle up. She (the dog) loves having clothes on her because it gives her comfort and it makes her feel the same feeling that the small space gives her. It is a cuddling feeling all around her. That is just like my Daisy. She loves to be in her crate and loves to be in small compact spaces. She will crawl into a paper bag or anything on the floor that surrounds her. She likes to feel surrounded on all sides by fabric or material of almost any kind. She loves to be in doggy purse/carriers. She feels safe and cuddly. She LOVES clothes on her. It seems to give her comfort and make her feel like she is being hugged and snuggled by the fabric. I know it probably sounds a little crazy but I can see a difference in her comfort level when she has clothes on. I'm sure some others have seen the same thing with their yorkies. I never really understood the explanation for this until this lady explained it to me. It makes sense to me now. |

Re: Rude employee! That's definitely a no no!! No matter what store the customer is at they should be given priority service. If it wasn't for us, the clerks wouldnt have a job. Im glad that clerk was reported then and there. Perhaps he or she is unhappy there, then they should quit and get another job. But no matter what, the customer comes first! I know because I was a customer service representative for a large utility company and we were always reprimanded by management if were got out of line with the customer! I am the same way, now that Im retired, if I feel that the clerk is rude or just doesnt care, I ask for the manager and make a formal complaint. That's anywhere I go. From See's candies to petsmart, there's plenty of people out there just waiting for these jobs! I also talk directly to the employee, I told one who was extremely rude to me that "you are here to work and help customers!" I reported him immediately to the supervisor at the market and a couple days later I didnt see him anymore. Im not out to take somebody's livelihood away, but hey, when you deal with the public, give them your best. Sorry for the long post, but I hate it when clerks that should work in the back are placed in the front with the public! |

I didn't want him to get fired. I just wanted him to learn to hold his tongue and not make anymore ladies cry by calling their babies "it". Susanah LIKES wearing clothes too. She has a whole range of barks and other vocalization and I understand exactly what the majority of them mean. I can assure you (and the jerk at petsmart) that if the Poopanut didn't like wearing her clothes she would have no problem letting me know. :D DH loves Susanah as much as I do. Everyone thinks *I* am the one who has her so spoiled, but he played a HUGE part in it as well. |

Seriously, how rude! Why does he care though? He's paid to take money not give his ever so insightful opinion! What a jerk! Wonder what his boss would say if he knew an employee was bashing the business? |

I guess my response would have been "Well it is a good thing alot of people spoil their babies it is called JOB Security for you buddy" |
|
That was jusstt tooo rude! I know right if he works in petsmart he should know better! I would have told him off! |

I took it to mean that she is also against dressing dogs. That's fine. There are lots of people who feel the same way. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on the matter. I was never angry with the Petsmart employee for having his own opinion, I was angry that 1) he felt the need to express it to a customer who was purchasing a doggie dress, and 2) he did so in a mean and hurtful way. We all have the right to have and express our own opinions. We all do NOT have the right to be mean and hurtful to others. She stated her opinion, but did so politely and was not mean or hurtful in doing so. :) |
