| Beauty Shop Bound Just a couple of quick questions. Maggie finished her shots today and can now go to the beauty shop. She's only 4 months old, and really doesn't need a hair-do yet. What is a good age to take them to the beauty shop? I already bathe her weekly, brush everyday and keep her potty area trimmed. Then for the next question: About how old are they when they sleep all night. Maggie still gets up about 12:30AM. I take her outside to PP and then back to bed. Sure would be nice to get 8 hrs. of sleep.

| I think Yoda started sleeping through the night at about a year old. It does help to take them out just before YOU go to bed, if you can get Maggie to pee on command... As far as the beauty shop, I'd personally wait until 6 or 8 months, just to be as safe as possible. |

| I think it varies depending on the dog. Bella started sleeping through the night at 5 months. I think we got pretty good with her as far as sleeping. I've heard horror stories about people's dogs waking up at 3 every single night. Bella will sleep in as long as I do and when she has to go to the bathroom she'll just bark, i'll take her to go and then back to bed we go!

| Lily has slept through the night since I got her at three months. But she is also very busy during the day. If I move, so does she. She doesn't take a big nap during the day. I would go ahead and take her to a groomer just to start exposing her to the experience. The younger she is the better.

| I think Maddie has me spoiled with her sleeping through the night. It was only the first couple of night I had her that she woke quite often. Then it was about a week of getting up at about 4 AM to potty. Since then, she goes to bed when I do, and gets up when I do...even if I sleep till 10! The grooming, they say to take them early so they get used to it. I took Maddie at 4 months and then again at 7months. Both times she turned into the Tazmanian Devil and isn't welcome back there. LOL Now I'm trying to just groom her on my own at home and she minds me just fine. I hope Maggie does well with her grooming experience! |

| As soon as we got Teddy I talked to the groomers and asked then what I should be doing to prepare him so the experience wouldn't be tramatic for him or them. He went to the groomer the first time as soon as his shots were in place at 4 months and now just went again at 6 months, not because he really needed it but more for the getting used to it and socialization part of it. He hates it...he shakes and looks so scared as I walk away. It's probably just as tramatic for me as it is for him at this point but hopefully at some point it will pay off. I was lucky he sleeps as long as I sleep and if he wakes up and needs to potty before I am up he comes and licks me all over my face which is just a horrible way to have to wake up. LOL!
