My 14 week old puppy Bette

is going nutso when it comes to her leash. It isn't imperative that she learn right away because she's in the process of being litter box trained and not traine doutside, but I'd like to take her on a walk once in a while, get her out of the house. I bought a harness today, and first and foremost, she wriggles like CRAZY when I try to put it on her, and to adjust the neck is hard when she's wriggling everywhere, but the biggest problem is, and maybe it's because this is my first dog, when we get outside she doesn't walk. Like, she sniffs, and goes in circles and I try to pull her down the street and she's like just sniffing, I give her a gentle tug and she's moving for the next foot and then at it again, and then she attacks the leash! It's attatched to the harness on her back and she turns and bites it.

Did your babies do this, or is Bette a special case?

You need to give her time to get used to the leash. I would let her smell the harness before you put it on her. Then let her just wear the harness around the house for a while. When you take her out, just let her sit there until she feels like walking. Praise her/give her a treat when she does walk! She'll get the hang of it, just be patient with her!

Hope used to do that.... I bought a silk "step in" from "Chattiesmom"....LOVE THIS ThING! The leash is so light she doesnt even realize it is on... I let her walk around inside with it on a few times and she LOVES it now... She will even pick up her little feet to put it on because she knows it means outside time... its just a matter of them getting used to the leash....
