Thanks for your posts. Lizzie is a AKC registered babe. She is adorable and I wouldn't change her for anything. She has a compact body. Her hair on her back gets very curly...especially if I don't blow it out after a bath. Her hair did not start to curl until she was about 8 months and then we started noticing curls around her bottom and then up her back. Her belly curled when wet but dried straight. Interesting. Everyone thinks she is so adorable. I have to say though I hate it when someone says "she must not be a purebred Yorkie, they don't have curls". In this area anyway...there appears to be some competition in who's Yorkie is better. In my book "I have a little girl to love". A transitional object to help me emancipate my youngest child. She does it for me. Lizzie was spayed...I often wish I hadn't. She would have had cute babies. I will post pics of her since her early days with us.Can anyone give me a quick tutorial on creating an album or putting pictures on a message? Thanks to all, Lee and Ms. Lizzie Last edited by leeslizzie; 09-21-2008 at 07:14 AM. Reason: OOOPS Typo's | |

| just throwing this out...there could be a possibility biewer in the mix...it is still purebred but the biewer hair tends to be a little on the curly side....my Smokey is half standard yorkie and half biewer...if his hair get too long on his body it get really really curly....best thing is to use human shampoo and conditioner....my breeder has a biewer that she shows...he is an international champion...she only uses sunsilk straighten up shampoo and conditioner on him and his coat is gorgeous....i use it on my yorkie and my daughter's yorkie(she is standard yorkie with golden gene...very straight and silky)....also it stops fleas dead in their tracks...and we dont use any flea meds....Smokey had them bad....my breeder used the human shampoo and conditoner on him while we were in florida(she boarded him for me) and he hasnt had one since...and boy do they smell great after their baths...

| Yes I use baby shampoo with a condition in it. Help control her curls a bit. We keep her cut in a puppy cut except her top know which always is straight as is her face. Funny little girl. I bought her a new sweater yesterday and she nabbed it out of the shopping bag so fast running with it to her spot in the living room. Where it will lay for a week or so before she "may" be willing to allow it to be stored in the foyer in the bench with other winter needs. She is a spit fire, true to her breeds temperament. She hates feet. I have often wondered if someone stepped on her when little; she has gone to doggie day care since we first brought her home at 8 weeks. I should stop bragging. So hard not to love these little guys. Lee and Lizzie |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Blow drying! I have to keep Bentley really short. When I blow him dry, it poofs. If he has any length and I blow dry, poof! Kinda like an afro from the 70s.

| Thanks all. Sounds like curly is it. My neighbor has a straight, silky haired Yorkie and I don't think he is nearly as cute as my Lizzie. she cuts him very short. Lizzie has a little compact, stout body. Short legs. I tell you she is a doll baby. She however, believes she is the neighborhood watch security chief. Believe me...we have to watch her every minute. LUV those Yorkies. |

| Peanut has a curly coat, and I love it. He's such a handsome boy!! He's 10 pounds and curly coated, so I always get the "oh, he doesn't look like a yorkie" comments. My response: He's like his mama...more to love! Playtime makes him happy: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/r.../HappyBaby.jpg Ohhhh, but if Mommy's not giving him enough attention...the pouting begins: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/r...okthatface.jpg
