| I just have to ask Does my Little Bit in my avatar have a baby doll or teddy bear face?? I don't really know. I think she is perfect but I couldn't in good conscience really recommend her breeder. Maybe I shouldn't say that because she seems to be healthy at 18 months. Its just that I got her at 9 weeks and 13 oz. and from all I've read on here that was way too young and too small and she did have coccidia. Last edited by doortego; 07-12-2007 at 10:01 PM. |

Just remember that the terms "baby doll" and "teddy bear" are made up terms so there isn't really a definition for either. To me it seems like they would both mean the exact same thing though - as even a teddy bear has a short little nose...never seen a teddy bear with a long nose (except the really old style ones). I think breeders use both of these to mean a short muzzle.

| OK I just did the stupidest thing I actually measured my dog's nose. Little Bit weighs right at 5 lbs. and her nose from the stop to the tip is 1 inch long. After you quit laughing, could you tell me if that is short? I mean how long is a Yorkie nose "supposed" to be? Quote:

| I really don't know how long it is supposed to be. I guess it depends on the individual dog and what is proportionate for their body. I don't know enough about Yorkie comformation to be able to tell you the typical length of a yorkie muzzle. This is all the AKC standard says about it: Head Small and rather flat on top, the skull not too prominent or round, the muzzle not too long, with the bite neither undershot nor overshot and teeth sound. Either scissors bite or level bite is acceptable. The nose is black. Eyes are medium in size and not too prominent; dark in color and sparkling with a sharp, intelligent expression. Eye rims are dark. Ears are small, V-shaped, carried erect and set not too far apart. I think Lacy's nose is a little longer than average...maybe? I think the shorter muzzles are very cute and give them that baby-like expression.

| HaHa...I would say an inch is pretty short so I think you're probably safe to say yours has a "baby doll" face.
