| Hair Color Changes Hi Everyone! I'm a first time Puppy Mommy and this site has truly been a blessing to me! My puppy is 13 weeks old and I love his coloring, but I realize that will change...but can anyone tell me at what age that starts to happen and how long until it's his final coloring? I did meet the parents at the breeders, but they were both different coloring. I've seen so many variations in coloring that I'm so confused. Thanks! |

| I have read here that it takes up to two years for the adult coat to settle in. Gracie is just over 1 year and looks like she might be headed into her final coat change. Her coat has changed so many times it looks like someone painted black stripes on her lengthwise!

| When I got Lacy at 11 weeks, you could see gold coming in on her face and silver coming in on top of her head. That silver eventually became all gold though. So you can probably already see changes on your baby's face and top of head. They keep changing the first year or two.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | And it may continue to change throughout their lives. At age 10, Ozzie's muzzle has gone a strong auburn/copper color. It always had parts that were reddish, some completely so. But up until two or three years ago, it had been more beige. But for some reason, the color has become more intense and covered more area as he has aged. I would have thought the opposite would be true! |

| This is something that is hard for my friends and family to understand, sometimes. It's almost like they don't believe me that he's going to change. Paddington was all black and brown when I first got him at ten weeks, and at eleven weeks his started to get silver between his eyes and on the top of his head. Now he has silver coming in on his back where he was once solid black. His brown muzzle has lightened to a more goldish color, also... he is four months now. We are expecting him to be blue and gold (my mom sings that song "silver and gold" from Rudolph every time we talk about his coat ) He changes more and more every week though! I swear he looks nothing like he did last week, and he still has a lot of changing to do! -O

| Although Summerlin is mixed with chi, she was pretty pale when I got her - a light blonde color. Over the past six months she has gotten even lighter, though, in some places her hair is almost translucent. I was definitely pleasantly surprised
