| Help Please, 7mos old male very aggressive towards me at certain times My yorkie/long haired chihuahua cross is very affectionate, playful, healthy, has been neutered, but lately he has literally attacked me when we were just sitting watching tv after sharing a popsicle, i was casually petting him, another time we were on the same couch sharing a jelly bean now both times the treats were finished..or maybe a little piece had fallen..this is heartbreaking to me , he never does it to my hubby. i'm not his alpha i can see that..i'm worried there is something wrong with him, and i don't trust him anymore..it has to do with his treats or bones ..very vicious ..scary,,but i still love him and don't want to have to give him up..thanks for any advice.. |

| i caught maggie being food aggressive once and i immediately put her on her back and made her submit. then, for a couple of weeks, i would purposely take food and treats from her just to test and see if she would get aggressive. and if she did...on her back again. you have to take control of the situation or you will never be able to trust him around other people. God forbid he bite someone else...or a kid!!! take control hun! you dont have to be mean...just be the boss. the alpha!! you have to!!

Buddy. It is scary for sure and Buddy weighs 15lbs. He did bite me once and I thought something was very wrong with him. I did some research and found that I was not alpha with him. He did not respect me. This is very true because I babied him to death. Well I sure changed things around. He went from guarding his food, his toys and even MY bed to this passive wonderful loving pet finally. You must become Alpha or you will never change things. Get Cecear Millan's CD's regarding this. It will help you understand what goes on in that little one's head. Today if Buddy does something wrong I say his name sharply, he stops and comes running to me jumping up to be picked up and loved. Totally different dog. These little ones can become very aggressive if you do not step in and become their leader. Good luck, make it happen and enjoy you baby. | |
