| Watch their paws on the HOT asphalt! I took my two to Petsmart on the way back from out weekend trip yesterday and as we got out of the car, something told me to touch the asphalt with my foot (I had on flip flops) before I put my two down, so I did.. IT WAS SO HOT! It surely would have burnt their little paws! If you are taking yours out to walk in this heat, be careful of the asphalt, brick, concerete! It's so miserable out.

I feel bad for them because the grass is crunchy too, so i water our lawn just where they go out to potty. The rest of it can be all brown and dry and I don't care, but my monsters have green grass to pee in!

| This may be a stupid question, but does anyone put shoes or booties on their paws because of the hot concrete? I was looking at these.. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=4408080 ....but they look like they are geared more toward rain and say something about keeping the warmth in. Does anyone make ones like this but geared more for summer?

| more people need to be aware of this problem. my husband says they don't need anything on their feet when they walk. (he dont' want to be seen in public with sissy shoes on them). well ..........that is too bad, if you can stand on that pavement with no shoes on, then they can. but until then they wear shoes or stay off the pavement until it is cooler.

| Haha, that is so funny, this weekend when we took a drive to the beach, I put rocky on top of the roof of the car to take a pic, and he started whining and dancing salsa , I was amused at first, but quickly realized the problem, but it wa so funny at first, hehe, my little trooper. |

| Dogs do have a form of insulation from hot and cold in their paws but to a degree. Buddy has to be walked and I try and keep him up on the grass because of the hot blacktop. Thanks for the reminder. |
