Goodbye YT! I would like to say thanks for all the advices and love that everyone has given me. I enjoyed every moment of YT and can no longer visit this site again. I am scheduled for surgery on July 12th and if the surgery doesn't turn out the way doctors wanted it then I have to start chemotherapy. I opted for the surgery instead of chemo first because there is a 50% chance that things might turn out positive for me. As far as Buttercup, I don't know what I'll do with him and I don't know what I'll do without him. After my surgery, it would be hard for me to take him out to go potty, play with him, or even bend down to pick him up. My husband is the working type (the type that is never home) and doesn't have time to care for Buttercup. If I don't find a solution, then I will probably give him up to a rescue. :( Again, thanks! Kim |
good luck with your surgery and recovery. prayers your way! |
good luck. I'll be praying for a positive outcome |
Maybe someone here can take buttercup for you. I hope you come back after your surgery. Prayers for your surgery. We're all here for you. |
Good luck with the surgery...Where is Cypress...maybe I can help is it is in northTexas. Patty |
Kim - wishing you lots of positive healing energy and prayers that your surgery goes well and little Buttercup will be able to stay with you. |
Good luck to you. Maybe a rescue could take him only until you were able to care for him yourself again? |
Oh, you will be soo missed! I hope and pray that you are well soon. If you need help with Buttercup, let me know and we can foster him for awhile if needed. There are so many YTers in TX that I am sure can help.....and I am not too far away. Sending hugs and get well wishes! :justahug: |
I will be keeping you and buttercup in my prayers i hope everything turns out good for you and that you wont have to rehome buttercup. |
Prayers Prayers and healing thoughts being sent to you. In hopes that the surgery resolves the problem and you do not need chemo. Jay :aimeeyork |
You are in our prayers for a sucessful surgery and quick recovery. |
I hope all goes well and wish you a speedy recovery. I am sure you will find someone on the list to take care of Buttercup for you untill you are well. I would take him for you....I live in New Jersey and have two Yorkies a male and a female. I know we are far away but if all else fails and you want to the offer is open. Tina |
Okay I'm back. I couldn't resist! Cypress is located NW of Houston. I don't like the idea of rehoming him or giving him up. Fostering is a good idea but what if the person fostering him doesn't want to give him back? Then I would be more heartbroken. |
I hope your surgery goes well, and I very much hope you are able to keep Buttercup. If there is anything I can do to help with him please let me know. I live an hour away in College Station. |

I would be happy to take him in for awhile for you but I can't drive or ride that far with my knee surgery being just 2 months old but if someone can get him to Krum, Texas, he is welcome. Patty...and I promise to give him back:D |
I think if you can find someone on YT that is close by (for visits or something) fostering would be a good thing. Though, I am a big advocate that when you are sick, there is no better medicine than having that sweet little body laying next to you. I am here if you need anything......:justahug: |
My Prayers are with you and if I could foster your little one my promise would be my gurantee you would get him back even if I fell in love with him which I'm sure I would. But I live a little far unless you would be will to ship at your expense. |
prayers coming your way. |
I hope that you get to keep him with you though 'cause I know how much it helps to have them around after surgery. Maybe your hubby can help out just for awhile 'cause you are going to need help for yourself too. Patty |
Oh wow - I'm so sorry you have to have surgery - but to tell you the truth - if right after you need someone to take care of you and you probably will - then can't they help with your yorkie too ?? Is this surgery this intensive where you have to stay in bed all the time or will you be able to get up for stuff like going to the rest room etc ?? It may work out where you can recover and keep your little guy - or if you had to... maybe someone could keep him for a few weeks for you till you get stronger ? |
Ooops...double post |
Kim, Perhaps with all the wonderful friends you have here on YT, someone can come to your rescue and help you out with Buttercup:aimeeyork , even just temporarily keeping him til you recover enough. We all here can sure help you as you recover if just to send you good wishes as you go through this journey. Don't say goodbye just yet. Sending good thoughts and prayers your way. Margaret :getwellso :goodluck: :big_hug: |
I replied to your earlier thread and I have sent you a pm. as well. I am more than happy to keep your baby for you while you recover. I am in the Austin area, but am home all day and I am willing to drive and meet you if need be. I have two yorkies of my own and would be glad to help you out! Best of luck and I gave you my # in the pm if you want to call me. Delaina |
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you are ill and are having surgery. As for Buttercup, maybe you could find someone on YT willing to take him. Maybe even just until you are feeling better. I had to have surgery a couple months after I got Jake, and I have to say that having him helped me sooooo much. You would be surprised how much these little ones can make you feel better. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope for a positive outcome for both you and your baby. |
Sending prayers to you, wishing you a speedy recovery, and wonderful thoughts that some one here can help you with buttercup, that would be so great, you could concentrate on getting well and know your baby was in good hands:love: |
Sending prayers your way for a speedy and full recovery and I know after seeing the rescue and rehoming efforts of the members on this site I know and I believe there is someone out there who can keep your baby for you while you recover and even bring him to visit you which will make your recovery so much better!! I am praying now that all will work out for you and buttercup before the surgery..Do you have someone you trust that can come over and take him out for you etc so you can keep him home with you while you recover?? A trusted college student or a friends responsible, older teen or young adult??? Wishing you all the best..Keep us posted please we want to know your doing well!!! |
Awww Kim, this is just so sad for both you and Buttercup, and I sure do hate to see you leave YT :( I am saying a prayer for you guys and I hope that your surgery leaves you with good results. Good Bless and good luck :) |
Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. Sounds like you have gotten some wonderful offers to help you with Buttercup. Could you have a doggy door installed where Buttercup could get into a secure area to do his business? I think it would make me very sad to give mine up. I know they are a lot of trouble but they certainly are a lot of company if you are confined to your home for awhile.:) |
I'm sorry to hear of your surgery and hope all goes well both during and after. I wish you the best in recovery and with little Buttercup. Glad to see so many offering to help you with him.:) |
