Oh, I am just so sorry to read this and hear about you. I really hope everything turns out okay for you and Buttercup. I can honestly say that I really truly enjoyed reading all your posts on YT and I think you were/are a great contribution to the site.

She will be a spectatular foster mom, and will absolutely fallin love.... but in the end, Patty WILL do the right thing and gladly place your Buttercup back in your arms.

Praying that all goes well with your sugery and that you heal quickly.

From what my doctor told me, I will have a cathether in because they don't want me out of bed and that I won't be having bowel movements for about about 4-5 days (talk about major constipation afterwards :rolleyes: ) My husband hired a personal nurse that would take care me for 4 weeks while I'm recovering. She'll be her at 7am-7:45am, come back at 11am-11:45am, then again at 3-4pm and 5-5:30pm just to check on me. I don't have friends that I can trust with Buttercup because most of them are harboring pitbulls in their backyard. My neighbor said that she is willing to come over and help me with letting him out and having play time with her 2 yorkies but she works from morning until 6pm. My husband usually takes him (Buttercup) to work with him but he can't any longer because the new secretary he hired says she allergic to dogs and will quit if he continues to bring Buttercup to work. He says he can't afford to lose her and promised me that he will consider it.

Please don't say Goodbye. That is so final.

Butter cup might just be the one that keeps you going. I'm sure you'll find a way.

You have certainly been shocked by the news of what you have ahead of you - surgery and maybe chemo and rehab. It must look very dark right now. But don't give up buttercup too quickly - you maybe only have a few weeks where you can't care for him the way he is used to, and after that things will be better. He will certainly survive - these dogs are amazing - when I'm sick mine won't leave my side for days and days and doesn't seem to suffer at all.

I think you will find that you need him for your recovery!

So sorry to hear about your health issues, I hope all goes well with your surgery and please let someone help you with your Buttercup!!! When you are feeling better and can handle doing the mommy things with Buttercup, she will only speed your recovery. I do hope when you are feeling better you will come back to YT and update us on you and your Buttercup!!!!

He should inform her that most people who are allergic to dogs are ok with Yorkies. THey don't shed. I know someone who is really allergic & is perfectly ok around Sadie. She should give it a try & be understanding of your situation.

First of all, I am so sorry about your situation and I am sending you lots of healing and positive thoughts from over here in NY.

I think finding someone to foster, or possibly hiring some help if you are able that could come over and walk your pup might be all the solution you need. I know this has got to be such a hard decision on your part <3

Maybe your hubby can find a new secretary.. I know that when I wasn't on meds anything with fur made me asthmatic and allergic and yucky so the secretary might truly be unable.

I really hope that everything works out for the best and that you can still hop on yt every now and then :)

My thoughts are with you during this rough spell with your health...I truly hope all turns out well for you, and I think Buttercup will help in the healing process...he needs you as much as you need him, so I suggest you keep him and find a dog sitter that can come to your home to care for him when your husband is away at work. Best wishes to you and Buttercup...and please come back to YT when you're able...In the mean time, we will pray for you, your health...and Buttercup...

I'm praying for a full & speedy recovery for you and a workable solution for Buttercup. Just remember, it doesn't have to be a perfect solution, just a workable solution. As others have said, they're tough they can handle most anything for a while. I feel for you as you're trying to make decisions about your own health and dealing with making decisions for your pup. Good luck and it sounds like you have a lot of amazing friends on YT who are willing to help you. Try to take it one step at a time, one day at a time. We're all here for you.

P.S. tell your hubby that next time during the interview process he needs to ask "Are you allergic to dogs" and then hire the one that isn't. :D Put it in the ad. Must like dogs and not be allergic. LOL

I am so sorry to hear about your illness and upcoming surgery. I know you must be feeling worried about what is in the future for you and your family. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you that everything will perfectly.

I'd like to share with you that I've recently been diagnosed with an illness called mitochondrial myopathy and have been confined to bed for over a year. In the very beginning I was completely helpless and the pain was unbearable. What I remember most was being able to feel my little Molly cuddled right next to me. It was so comforting and took away the loneliness. There were times I just wanted to feel sorry for myself or give up :aimeeyork and somehow Molly knew those moments and she would curl up onto my lap or give me kisses and it always took away some of the fear or bitterness I felt at the time. She was at my side constantly and never left...someone literally had to drag her away to go outside for potty time.

It seems perhaps illness takes us (or at least it did me) through stages - denial/sadness, anger/bitterness, why me?, and then acceptance. Molly and my family have been with me through all of them. I hope circumstances can be arranged so that Buttercup can be with you for all or at least some of your journey through this illness. I know it would mean a great deal to you, as having Molly did to me.
