Is there anything wrong with this puppy 3 Attachment(s) I'm supposed to go and pick up my first yorkie puppy today! YAY.... The breeder says she's fine, but i just want to make sure because it's a long trip. Can you look at these pictures and tell me if you think there's anything wrong with her. i've seen her brothers and sister and they were all fluffier with silkier hair. |
Please Help bump this please |
She is absolutely adorable to me but you can't tell anything about her health by simply looking at a few pictures. Since it's a few hours away, I think you should contact a vet near the breeder and see if you can bring the puppy in for a thorough exam before you officially take her from the breeder. The breeder could accompany you to the impartial vet and if everything goes as planned, your puppy can go home with you; if not, the breeder can take her home. I dunno, just a thought. |
She's a cutie, the 2nd picture really shows a good profile of her and her hair. All yorkies coats are different, you should read up on the yorkie breed while you are online. The coats are also described in several yorkie books at the Pet stores. |
Does your puppy come with a health guarantee? Some pups have silky coats some have cottony coats. It's hard to tell she's so tiny still. She looks adorable. Good luck with her. Post more pictures if you do get her. |
so her fur isn't too thin? I think she's adorable too :) I've been searching all over the net about this because I want to make sure that her coat will grow long when she matures since it's so short now :) |
I'm no expert and it's hard to say...is it her health you are concerned about, or is having a Yorkie with a beautiful coat important to you too? How old is she? I would say it doesn't look like she has a very thick coat. Maybe a breeder can say what they think or you could post in the breeder section and ask there. I liked JRo's idea to take her to an impartial Vet for a health check. |
thanks... she does have a health gurantee and I asked about the fur because i know that thinning hair can sometimes be an indication of health problems in humans and other animals and because I'm not COmpletely familiar with yorkies I didn't know if her coat texture and length was normal... |

Are these purebred yorkies you're looking at ?? She could be mixed (maybe with Chi) ?? Do they have the parents on site ? Do her siblings look like her ? It's really hard predicting a yorkies coat but from the look of her - I'd say she IS a yorkie - but also possibly a yorkie mix |
she is pure bred AKC reg and parents are on site... she was the smallest of the puppies, the others were a bit stockier |
I'm sure she's a really sweet puppy. However, if it were me - I'd wait and get a puppy that is completely what I wanted and it sounds as if you want a Yorkie that is going to have a beautiful coat. I searched for months until I found my puppy. The thing is, you'll fall in love with your puppy no matter what, so why not be sure you're happy with it first. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me about this, but I just feel some hesitation on your part. |

I AGREE with you - :) jsmn266 - if you're having questions why not wait till you are VERY sure - she's cute don't get me wrong - but this is a big decision and you need to be very sure before you take her home - I wouldn't be concentrating on SIZE Only - too may people do that and are dissapointed when they're baby gets bigger than they expected - look at the Temperment - Ear set - body style - and overall GOOD Feeling you'll get when you know you found the puppy you want |
I think she's beautiful ! I just dont want to unknowingly adopt a puppy who is ill, that would be devastating. I've wanted a yorkie for about 3 years now and it's been really hard to find quality puppies in Michigan. I want to keep her for a long time and because she's so far away i wanted to ask some ppl with experience before I made the trip. |
