| I trimmed his face and I'm not really happy with it. I loved it long. His body never gets too long, so I left it - the groomer just cleaned it up a bit. The truth is though, I think he's better off. He's drinking more and his beard was always wet, it's raining a lot here, so he doesn't look so scraggly, and it's like having long hair or short hair on us in the heat. Short is cooler. Actually, the groomer said it doesn't make much difference since they don't have the second coat and their coats are hair, not fur.

| It depends how hot it is where you live. It's easy to keep (I think) when it's all the same length, if their hair is silky, because it just falls back into place when they shake.

| YT 500 Club Member | I would love to have Sophie in the long coat, but it just doesn't grow out nicely and gets pretty tangled. She looks so cute in the puppy cut, but we try not to have her look shaved. She seems to be happiest when I don't need to bush her too much. She hates being brushed, and with the puppy cut it is easier to keep her tangle free.

| Donating YT 11K Club Member | No regrets. I cut Teddy's hair myself cause 1. It was hot and 2. He had tons of knots! So I cut his body hair down and all the knots came out. I left his face long like Layla and his leg hair. It is so cute and he is incredibly soft and shiny too!

| I swore I would not cut Xena's hair, but after two trips the the ER and two shaved front legs later, I cut her hair so it would be more even. Not super short, but about 2" all around her body and left her head hair long. I have to say, it's soooo much easier to brush/comb now. I am convinced it was the puppy hair that made it difficult before. Her hair just feels much better. I will be letting it grow to full coat though.

| Slade never had long hair but about a month after I got him it was getting hot and he already had about 1.5 inches of hair so I thought it would be cute to shave his whole body but his head and give him a mohawk on his head. Bad idea. it looked cute in my mind, in reality not so much. Now Im letting him grow out. He's 5 mnths and has hair almost 2 inches now, but I wish I wouldn't have shave that first bit off. He isn't purebred so I'm really anxious to let him grow out and see how long he gets. |

| I cut most of my dogs down and of course didnt have a clue of what I was doing. I dont regret that I cut them, just that I didnt figure out how to make a cute puppy cut and I jsut shaved them down. The one I regret mostly is Louie. I almost cried when I got done with him. I know they all feel so much better and my workload was cut in half so that is good. I know its only hair and it will grow back but it still makes me sad to look at them now. |

| I groom my baby myself and have gone from letting EVERYTHING grow out to the floor to the summer cut and several in between styles... The long hair was beautiful, for a very short time! What a mess! It posed a hygiene problem first of all. We did a butt cut but still collected grass and fleas so I did the legs very short, still grass and fleas. (we live in Louisiana!) I did what I guess is called the puppy cut. It is about 2-3 inches long, legs are still short from the last cut. It is SO cute. I also trimmed the mustache short, it was always in her mouth! Left the beard long just shaped it nicely. I cant really tell the difference except there is no hair in her mouth. Butt is still CLOSE. I like to cut just the middle of the bangs short. She still has bangs but they stay out of her eyes. She doesnt like a topnot. Good luck. They are so cute I think you will like any cut you give her. |

| We went from really long hair to much shorter hair and I'll probably never go back to letting his hair get that long. I love the look of a full coat but for me I found it just too much work. I cut his hair myself in May. Here's a before and after.
