ER vet said any type of bit or sting would benefit from the dosage of benadryl--could keep them from going into shock and also helps with the sting/burn of the bite.

He is his normal rambuntious self today--chewing on everything in site--he has chewed the legs on ALL MY FURNITURE!!!! I told my husband last year I was ready for new furniture--he said to wait until Emmy got bigger. Now I guess we will wait on Oscar, too!

OH NO! So glad to hear that little Oscar is doing OK now. There seems to be a rash of these kinds of attacks. Poor little guys who find themselves full of ants!

What a terrible scare! Fire ants are a serious problem here in Georgia. Right now we are winning on the farm, but that could change any minute.

I live in the country too and have to watch out for the ant piles when he is out in the yard too!! I am going to get some benadryl today to keep it on hand just in case..I try to get him in an area where i don't see them but just a little one can do damage!! Thanks for posting this !!!!
