| My yorkie precious and our first puppy Hi. I know I haven't been on the forum for awhile, but I've been real busy with work and other stuff. I'm proud to say that my yorkie had a healthy puppy at 4pm pacific time yesterday while I was working. My wife and kids helped precious with pup. Wow what an experience I can't believe we did it on our own with no complications.....knock on wood. anyway, as soon as I came home my wife told me exactly what happened. My yorkie had been pacing around the house like she was lost and was looking for help from us I guess. I found it strange that she was very affectionate. she was trying to get close to whoever she could. I found some funny looking booger (lol) material in her stool and I started thinking to myself what my wife had said she found on one of the website that had mentioned that gooey stuff. I think she was pain through out the day and then went into labor. we kept a close eye on her for the past few weeks before because her nipples were getting bigger but we weren't sure she was pregnant...till this last week, where her nipple got a whole lot bigger. We took both of them to a vet and they're both healthy everything came out ok. thanks to god. we were all scared. on my first post alot of people here critized me for being a first time breeder. but with a wonderful wife and kids on your team and the proper information from books and websites, we were able to have a successful delivery. We are so excited. His name is 2geez. Guys, I would appreciate any additional information you can give us. Thanks an advance. |

| Congrats on the new addition!! Just make sure the puppy is feeding and that he gains some weight every day and that mom is getting good proper nutrition. She should be on a high quality puppy food is she isn't already.

| Congratulations on your new puppy. I know how excited you are. How much did the puppy weigh. Was it pretty big since is was the only one? How is it doing and how is momma. Keep an eye out to make sure it eats and gains weight. Keep it warm which shouldnt be hard in this weather. Watch momma nipples to make sure they dont get hard and have mastitis since she is only feeding one. Keep and eye on her too to make sure she is eating well. Sometimes they dont want to eat much after delivering and you have to hand feed them. Good luck and keep us posted and keep learning. |

| Thanks We've been keeping a close eye, and we're feeding her by hand. It seems she doesn't want any food but we still feed her plenty. the pup sleeps all day and feeds like every two hours. is this norm. any suggestions on nutrition for my bitch |
