I'm so sorry this happened to you :( |
Michiko, We have been waiting 18 months for RoxyJo's papers, and like you, did everything possible to get a response from the person we purchased her from. We never got one response back, nor would she answer her phone or cell phone so we just gave up. This is an entirely different person, but I understand your frustration and feelings of being let down and even lied to. In our case, the papers weren't that important. But, since they are to you, then I sincerely hope things will be made right for you. Your pain comes thru in your words and it is obvious you carefully thought out every word you printed. Hopefully, this thread will speed things up and settle the problem, whatever it is. Hugs from us all for a happy ending. |
:( So sorry you are put in a position you wanted to avoid....it's so disappointing & sad to see an issue like this come to light between Y.T. members...but you are correct in doing so, there's no excuse for at least not phoning w/ some kind of explanation....I understand how difficult this is for you & I hope it gets resolved soon... |
papers Make a written complaint to AKC. They frown on breeders selling pups without papers..it hurts their bottom line...even when the pups are not for breeding or retirees..they like for the breeder to give papers and the new owner transfer into their name..keeps the bank acccount full. This happened to me once and AKC refused to accept further litter applications until the breeder cleared the up the problem..at least this is what the breeder told me and sent a refund check because the puppy could not be registered due to some problem she refused to discuss..I, then had to write AKC and say the matter was settled..she then was able to register her next litter... BUT I got a the President of the YTCA at the time to write AKC backing me up...I want to add I was not a member of the YTCA. |
I know there are 2 sides to every story but in this case, Michiko has done everything she should have and still did not get the papers. If the litter was never registered then the Breeder should be honest about it, if their is some other problem why not tell Michiko as she has spent a great deal of time and stress on trying to resolve this. I know how important the AKC papers are to her and if anyone knows how you can register a dog a year later please let her know. I know when I got Pixie from Susan at Stardust Yorkies she gave me her signed registration and told me to transfer her to my name, I said that I didn't really care of she was registered and she said No you have to register her that's her birth certificate. Akc breeders want their dogs registered! |
I can tell this was hard for you to write. I hope this works out for you. :hearts-xx |
akc papers Hi, When I purchased both of my yorkies (from diff. breeders) at the time I purchased them I received signed papers to immediately send to the AKC to register them..they were both approximately 8-10 wks old at the time, the first female was registered pet quality and had to be spayed and the other was a full registration). I would never have bought them if they hadn't provided the papers at the time money exchanged hands. I am going to be selling yorkie pups myself in a 8 wks., they are 3 wks. today. I have already registered the litter, and the AKC has sent me litter registration papers which has the AKC litter registration number and shows the mother's and father's lineage, they have also provided the paperwork to give to the new puppy owners to register the pup. I am so sorry you are having this problem and I do think perhaps you should contact the AKC to see if she did register this litter. Debbie Tea' +6 |
Oh no! I am sorry you are having to go through this! YorkieRose gave some good advice. Maybe it will all get worked out before that step, but this might be the step it takes to get it worked out. Hugs to you! |
I have followed your posts from the time you were Yorkie sitting for your friends longing for your own puppy. You really took learning about the breed to your heart and put so much time and effort into making sure you knew how to care for the new puppy and were 100% prepared for the responsibility. I know you spoke to and visited several breeders before selecting your Sylvan's, you even waited for the parents you fell in love with to breed and have a litter, praying and hoping that litter will include a female. Then when Haruka was born, she was so small that you had to wait a few extra weeks before the breeder felt Haruka was ready to start her life with you. If I'm not mistaken, your journey took over a year! I was glued to your "Count Down" threads and shead tears of happiness for you and Haruka when the two of you were finally united. You have posted over and over and over how much you trusted and respected Stacy. That she truly was a wonderful mentor and friend to you. How responsible Stacy is as a breeder. How beautiful and healthy her pups are. I can understand your disappointment and how hurt you must be after all this. It's not just about the AKC papers, it's also about losing a beautiful friendship, loss of faith and feeling betrayed. Because I know you from your posts, thread and PM's, I know you did all you could to reach Stacy and to get the paperwork in your hands. You really could not have done any more. As stated on the other posts, we do not have Stacy's side of the story. I do hope this is a HUGE misunderstanding and your friendship will be restored. It took courage for you to start this thread. I applaud you for your honesty and wanting to help and warn others from falling into a similar situation with any breeder they may choose. Get ALL paperwork before you head out that door with you puppy. Hugs to you and Haruka! |
Is it possible to start looking into legal action since this seller did not fulfill their contract and they accepted your money and the puppy is paid in full. It's not like they're waiting for the rest of their money to sign over the papers or anything. I'd look into legal recourse in small claims court. You definitely should get your money back since you did not get the required AKC registeration papers. |
All of you are so sweet. It brought me some tears. So thank you. Yes this is just my side of story and I too would like to hear Stacy's side of story. I am just confused.... And Yes I have tried everything I could do at this point. I am not sure if she cares about this thread as I have told her ahead of the time and given her sometime to respond to my emails. Stacy had a contract with me that she would send me an AKC limited registration paper after sending her a copy of spay receipt. I thought that she really wanted to make sure that people spay and neuter their yorkies... Yes I needed a lot of courage to start this thread, but I am glad that I did so far :) SO thank you... I too would like to restore my friendship with Stacy if I could... I also hope that people don't get into the same situation... Thanks again. p.s. Stacy was online at around 1 p.m. it says... well.. I am sure she read this. |
Michiko, thank you for posting this . . . .I know of a special friend on YT who shares the same frustration as you regarding the breeder so I hope that she will come forward as well because I know she has been just as frustrated if not even more with her dealings with the breeder. |
I'm sorry you have to deal with this.Stacey needs to come forward and uphold her contract,if she doesn't ...well admin should be contacted for false advertisement. Good luck! |
Michiko, i know how hard this was for you to post because i know how much you looked up to Stacy when you first got Haruka. At the time Stacy (aka sylvan) seemed like a great breeder and friend. She answered all your questions and was very helpful. You signed the contract with Stacy because you trusted her. Its written there that after you got haruka spayed she would send you the registration papers. You upholded your end and she failed to do her part. For 5 months she's been avoiding the issue at hand and she hasn't given you a proper reason for it. I hope this thread makes her see how big of an issue this is for you and makes her finally give you the papers. One can only hope. Someone else posted that you should follow up with the AKC and see if she registered the litter already and also to file a complaint against her. I agree. You know its hard for me to say this because i too have a Sylvan Yorkie. We got out pups only a week or two apart. Morgan and Haruka grew up together at Stacy's house (from different litters). I know exactly how you feel about losing touch with her and things not being the same. Our situations are similar but different. I knew what i was getting into when i purchased morgan, but at the time was too excited to question the reasons. I trusted Stacy too and the opinions of others on YT about her breeding practices. I will not go into my story of frustration because i feel it is partially my fault for not being smart enough or demanding enough (tho demanding might not be the right word here) to do anything about it. i wanted morgan so bad and didnt want to be turned down. Also i think its good that you posted your negative experience so that others can read it and formulate their own opinions on Sylvan Yorkies. This should be done for all breeders/stores/whatever. Negative experiences can and should be brought up in a tasteful way so that other people who are thinking of purchasing from them can see all sides. michiko i know you wanted to post this after saying so many good things about her so that other potential buyers will be able to read this before making their decision. I applaud your courage. You know i am always around to talk and listen :) Kellie |
Isn't this the same breeder Timmy got his sick baby Lily from? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ghlight=Sylvan |
