I still don't understand the managers reasoning for not viewing the tapes. Is it because this is a personal issue...not a business issue? If someone was trying to sell a computer that was stolen from Walmart, I bet they'd be viewing the tapes. This aggravates me, as time is wasting...as he sits on those tapes. Can we at least convince him not to tape over them...just in case it's needed for evidence.

My husband works for Walmart Stores, INC. He holds a high position in Asset Protection and I told him about this situation as soon as I read it. He says that there is no way anyone could get a hold of the video unless it goes through Walmart's legal office and then a hearing is held to release the footage. They will not tape over it. I just hate that we can't do more to help. He also mentioned that letters might just get caught up with the rest of the hate mail. But anything is worth a shot. He is not one to get involved as he has a lot on his plate already and I'm the pet lover not him. But I told him that maybe if he heard anything to let me know and he said he'll keep an eye out. I'll will definitely keep everyone posted but again there is only so much he can tell me if such things are to be kept confidential.

Geez, what's the point of the freakin' camera if they won't view the tapes?

Please tell me they don't continuously tape over each day! Some places do that.

Most larger places have gone digital, kind of like a big dvr. It just continually records. All you gotta do is punch in a date and time and BAM. Tapes are kind of obsolete now...so it's got to be there.

You know I find it strange.. I work at a auto body shop and I hear .. all the time.. I need to repair my car and bill it to this WM corporate office..or they already have a check.. BUT THE STRANGE THING IS- their cars are hit by random carts and they go in and complain and they VIEW THE TAPES OF THE PARKING LOT..and see the cart hit their car and they pay up.

BUT MY POINT is they VIEW THE TAPES ALL THE TIME..

Maybe someone could complain they have a nice cart dent on this day?? Just a thought..

my daughter is a mgr in ky she said talk to security and they can let you view tapes if they feel you need to ss its all i can do but yes i would call and bother corp talk to you local news crew and tell them your story just maybe they will put it on and pressure walmart

If this were a missing child, wouldn't they eagerly check the tapes? This is ridiculous. It saddens me that everyone doesn't realize and accept that pets are like children to those who love them.

i just sent an email to everyone i know telling them to pass the email on and i posted bullitons on myspace i added so i can put #1 space and i put his pic as my main posted a ad on myspace & craigslist

Sounds like the "suits" of Walmart can't help, you would have to beg and appeal to the person actually sitting on the tapes. I like that idea of checking out a cart that banged your car on that day and time. mmmm?

I live right here in the middle of Wal Mart Corporate (Bentonville, AR). My sister works for Wal Mart Corporate. I have emailed her and will let you know the response. HOWEVER, we had some Wal Mart shopping cards stolen one time and we had a guy from corporate who was more than happy to view tapes and find the thief on video using the cards for us. So I know it can be done. Let me see what I can do!
