| New to Site-New Yorkie Owner! Hello everyone!! I'm a brand new owner of a Yorkie puppy (well, ANY dog for that matter) and new to this site! I would love to receive any tips you experienced Yorkie lovers/owners might have for me! I am very nervous and scared--anybody have any good first few weeks suggestions? My baby is almost 12 weeks old. I just got him 3 days ago. He's wonderful, very loveable and never yaps or cries throughout the night. I just love him! And I'd love to hear your tips and advice! |

| Congratulations on the new pup!!...The only thing that comes to mind right now is make sure he eats regularly w/ good quality food...& be VERY consistent w/ the potty training or it can become a problem...Don't forget to post pic.'s! Good luck!

| Welcome and I can't wait to see pics. An excellent way to get answers to any questions you will have about your new baby is to go to the search box at the top. You can find just about anything you need to know by filling in a keyword. If you don't find the answer, just feel free to ask. You could also check out some books on dog care at your local library.

| Hi and welcome. Well I'd say the first few months I would not take him to parks or stores and let him walk around since he hasn't completed his shots. Parvo is on the rise and it's a very bad disease especially for young puppies. Feed him about 1/8 of a cup of food every three hours for the first couple of weeks, then every four hours for another couple of weeks and then breakfast lunch and dinner. Lunch can be yogurt with blueberries or cottage cheese with cut up apples or strawberries. Good luck with your baby. |
