| I was robbed yesterday!!! Hi everyone, This post might be moved to off topics but it kind of involves Izzy. Yesterday after work I came home and noticed that my house had been broken into. Izzy was fine, they didnt take him. (whew) But they ransacked my house opening drawers, boxes and my jewelry box. It looked like they were looking for something but didnt find it. My clothes were all over the floor in my room. They went through my file cabinets and just made a complete mess. After all of the mess, they only took my digital camera!! What a bunch of idiots. I live in a 2 family flat, my landlord who is great lives upstairs. They broke into both of our places. The got in through the front window which was up. Usually I dont leave it up when Im gone but, since its been 90+ degrees here I left it up because I didnt want Izzy to pass out from heat exhaustion. (sp?) This week I had planned on going to lowes or home depot to pick up a window air conditioner and another fan. My fault for putting it off. I didnt think it was going to get this hot. Michigan weather is so iffy. Anyways, I just wanted to vent. Im okay, Im a little shaken up and creeped out because I feel violated...and what if they come back? Izzy is okay now. He was a little shaken up. He did pee on the floor in 3 spots and was shaking when I came home. I felt so bad. I stayed at a friends house last night. When we go to my friends house, he acted out a bit. I figured he was still nervous and shaken up, hopefully he will be better today. So now, Im going to consider moving when my lease is up. I tried to stick it out in the city but I cant do it anymore. It sucks because I really like the house and I love living in a city environment.

| Oh I am so sorry to hear this. Thank god all they took was your camera. Not that that is a good thing, but it could have been alot worse. I'm glad to hear everything is ok and no one got hurt.

| This is awful. Thank goodness Izzie is OK and you're safe. I can't imagine how frightened you both must be! If you have to stay until your lease is up, consider getting some of the snap on metal locks that go on the edges of your windows. They keep them from being able to be raised any higher than you open them. I did this when I was living in Atlanta because I enjoyed the fresh air, but didn't want anyone to be able to climb through. They're available at Lowes and Home Depot and I would imagine, at other hardware stores. Stay safe!! |

| I know exactly how you feel because I've been robbed, too. Thank God Izzy is OK. Please take all precautions with windows, locks, etc. Make sure your landlord changes the locks on your doors, too. I know they came in thru a window but there's something about a big new shiny deadbolt that makes you feel better.

| I am so sorry u were robbed and had all your personal items handled by some stranger. Thank goodness Izzy is safe! Poor baby. I read an article last week that stated home invasions and robberies are up from last years figures. More bank and store robberies too. Until u can move just remember to lock windows, keep blinds closed and work with your landlord to ensure your and Izzy's safety.

| OMG Karla - how scary!!!!!!i I'm sure glad that Izzy is okay and nothing tremendously valuable is gone. I'm sure you filed a police report, but to be on the safe side, change your locks immediately. And go get the window AC - they're not too expensive and it will be HOT for a while here. Let's make plans to get together soon.....

| wow Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. Thank the lord that they did not take Izzy. This is my nightmare. I have it all of the time...Someone breaks in and takes Zoey and sells her. Poor little baby must have been so scared. I'm so glad you and her are all right.

| Thanks everyone for your thoughts and concerns! I am going to get an air conditioner TODAY and my landlord is getting an alarm system put in on both units. We do have window locks. I use them all the time, except this time. Since it was so hot I had the window open wider than normal. I am glad Izzy is okay and was not taken. I do plan on moving though, even with the alarm I dont feel completely safe because they now know what I have in my house.
