| new addition to the family hi ^_^ i have chubby here. he is about 15 months now and i thought he was getting kind of lonely so this weekend we are getting a little girl maltese named BeBe she's a little over 2 months old. she's going to be his little sister and he's going to be a big brother but my thoughts would be that he will get jealous and i don't know really how he's going to handle her. he's been around other dogs at the dog park and does good he's friendly and everything... i just don't know how he's going to treat his new little sister... anyone who has been in my situation (getting a new addition to the family which your 1st dog was the spotlight of the attention) can you tell me how your experience turn out thanks - kelly |

| When I got Autumn (my yorkie) in March I already had a 5 yr old pug (Dakota). I brought her home and she right away took to him and wanted to play and chase and bite him (typical puppy stuff). Well Dakota literally fell over to the floor and squealed like a pig (it was a pretty funny site! ) It took him 8 weeks to come around and now he likes her but could take or leave her. He does at time try to play w/her and take toys from her or chase her but not often. He is never aggresive or mean which is most important. I know alot of people here at YT will tell you that they brought home a friend for the furbaby and they adore one another. You never know but I am sure everything will turn out great for you! Let us know what happens and post some pics. Good luck! |

| If I were you, I would introduce them to each other for the first time on neutral grounds that way he doesn't feel like she's threatening his territory. Miko, our yorkie, was almost 3 yrs old when we got Emma, our maltese. She was 7 months at the time and they got along just fine They're best friends now!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | When I got Cali 2 years ago, Maya my Pom was 8 years old and they did fine. Then in January I got Pixie, who was 13 months old and Cali was 18 months old, at first Cali was jealous and would go lay in my dtrs room a lot. But after a couple of months they are getting along great. Sleep next to each other and play/fight and I am so happy I got her. Pixie also won over cranky old Maya and will sleep right next to her and walk right next to her almost on top of her. Something I never thought Maya would allow. Just give them time and they may instantly take to each other or it may take time but they will become best friends soon. Congrats

| thanks for letting me know your experience i was wondering also since she's hasn't really been potty trained i was thinking of chubby going to sleep back in his crate with her and hopefully teaching her where to go which is in the litter box he would usually sleep in the bed with us. do you think he would mind? and i doubt either one of them is going to be able to sleep the first night they are together together |
