Hi, I have also just joined yorkietalk. I live in South Africa and have two babies, Coco & Coffee, both nearly 3yrs. Coco is an adorable, outgoing very clever little girl, and Coffee is the most kind hearted, sensitive sweet little boy. They are not brother and sister but are distantly related. My hubby and I could not surrive without them. They sleep with us and go most places with us. We have a saying " if you dont take out yorkies in your restaurant, B&B etc. then you dont get us!" I am praying for the lost yorkie, I hope it is found soon. Will post photos soon.

hello I live in Kroonstad in the Free State. You are so lucky living close to a big city where you have nice shops and shows. I have to travel 2 hours in either direction (Bloemfontein or Johannesburg) to get to good shopping places. Do you show your Yorkies?

Thanks for the welcome guys! I will post photos as soon as I get my son to help me!!!! I dont show my yorkies, but Coco's grandparents, father and sister are all champions and Coffee's entire family (all over the world) are champions. Coco would make a champion yorkie, she is the right size, perfect coat etc. but Coffee, well, what can I say, although he is very beautiful and has a great coat, he is enormous - over 5Kg!! Dont know how that happened, his brothers are all normal size, and his parents are pretty small ( his father and grandfather were the top yorkies in S.A. I dont mind his size at all, in fact I think I love him all the more because of it. He is very gentle, kind and "talks" to me. He is our angle, and Coco is our fairy, always flitting about, she is of course daddy's little girl and sleeps on his head at night. We laugh about his "Coco Chanel hat" I can see I'm going to be on this site often chatting to all you wonderful yorkie people.

My Zachary will be three months old on the 4th of July. He went to the groomers for the first time today and I had her shave 1/3 of the hair off on his ears as they aren't standing up yet. Hopefully, they will soon. All the Yorkies are so cute!!!!

Hi, You may be wondering why I'm up at 1.38 am - my son is out and just sms'd me to say look outside its snowing - yes SNOWING here in Edenvale - havn't had snow in 20 yrs. Exciting. Anyway, when Coffee was little his ears would not stand up, and Coco's breeder told me to massage them often - it worked. Give it a try, wont do any harm. Going back to bed now.

The snow the other night was fantastic, although only about 2ins. When Coco & Coffee went out to peepee in the morning they could'nt believe their eyes. They barked at it. It melted by midday. It is soooo cold, we are not used to this weather. I've had to put coats on my babies, but boy does their hair get matted! I took them off again last night 'cause they snuggle in the bed with us and our cat Jesse (she thinks she is a Yorkie, eats, sleeps and plays with them) How do you guys cope with the cold weather, coats and matted hair. I normally brush them once a day, but the coats are really making a mess. This YT really is addictive ! I've read all the posts on all the threads, cant get enough . You guys are all so caring, funny and friendly
