Time for some honesty! If he didn't care for the pup, he would not have bothered. Thats not entirely true. There are trolls all over the net. I am not saying that he is a troll!!!! However at first with that thread he had, I did. I am only being honest. He came here asking questions yes, that is a plus in his favor, and so did you another plus in favor, but with the other info he provided on little Tanners situation I became very angry and so did allot of others.:( " 20 hrs in his crate" "Chris and Heidi time" "just to get away from the dog[it]" that just pushed me over the edge! Since you have read all his other posts I take it you have seen these quotes. My unsolicited advice it take a good long look at the entire situation and then think about Tanners best interest. We love dogs here. |
i agree this is totally getting out of hand. i'm surprised at what many YT veterans had to say to these two people. I in no way think they are being cruel to Tanner by crating him while they are at work and at night. I do the same with Morgan. Think about it. Alot of people crate their dogs at night. Morgan is in her pen at night for 8-9 hours most of the time. Sometimes she sleeps with me, but most of the time she is in her pen. Morgan also stays in her crate while i'm at work, and that's from 7:30 - 4:30, so another 9 hours. Am i a bad yorkie owner because i crate her for this long? do you want to say that to me as well because i basically do the same as they do? Those that know me on YT know that morgan is very spoiled, and she is also very well trained. So it is possible for a dog to be crated for a long time and also be a very spoiled pup. I think alot of people on YT forget that yorkies, tho small and very very cute, are Dogs. I mostly treat morgan the same way i would treat another dog that was 10 times her size. |
I read that Tanner was in his cage from 10 pm until 5:30 pm - And that they were upset that they had to bath him everyday cause his was lying in his urine and poop. Sorry, but that's not crate training, IMO that is neglect. And I don't think that's right and it certainly upset me thinking about poor Tanner in that situation. Then I read that "Chris" usually leaves him in the crate for an additional hour until Heidi gets home - And he wonders why "it" doesn't like him as much as he like Heidi. He came here for advice, and I hope they stay and learn, but their practices so far on how to treat and train Tanner have upset me and others - B/c we care so much for the wellfare of these little guys. All these things were posted by them, how could people not comment? This is a public forum. |
I've been reading all these posts and have only one thing to say. When you have a child that you feed, bathe, buy lots of nice clothes and toys for, it isn't enough unless you take care of their mental and emotional needs as well. If that is not met then I have to say would fall into neglect. I see some fur-kids that are suffering from neglect. Dogs are social animals and not to be locked up in a crate all those hours. |

Heidi - I think people were as upset at what NODAK said about the way he treated you, as well as how he treated Tanner... |

I myself never used a crate, they have one, but they only have 'cage match wrestling' in it. I contained mine in a spare room while I was at work (for about the first year). Yes, I am gone on average 10 hours a day. Yes, part of thinks they didn't deserve that kind of life, it makes me sad at times, b/c I want them to be around people more...But, now that they have free run down stairs while I am gone, they just sleep the day or look out the window at everything going on outside. Do mine have some 'mental' problems b/c of this??? Probably so. :( I am still battling poop eating (here and there), but it used to be everyday! TJ barks pretty much at ALL movement outside. Roxy has mild anxiety. Mental health is just as important as Food/Water/Shelter. |

I am thinking more along the lines of an x-pen instead of just putting him in my bathroom.. I wouldn't want him to chew up my cabinets.. He ran free one day in the house and chewed up all of my moldings. |
Usually I'm at work for 9-10 hours. Mine run free in the house. But I don't have kids so the evenings are spent with my boys. I have been known to turn down evening or weekend plans because that's my time with my boys. Not great for my social life, but I'd rather be at home spending time with them than doing most anything else. I think you can have healthy, socialized dogs even if you work long hours. I don't think they should be crated that long. I don't crate mine, but it's because I couldn't handle listening to them cry, it broke my heart. I want them to sleep with me. And who would guard the neighborhood from my front window if they were in a crate all day? |

I know, I was agreeing with Yorkiedaze, but I also wanted to post the reality of that with a situation of being away for long hours. I wanted to to show that I don't leave mine in a cage for long, long hours, but at even what I was doing (which I felt was minimum containment) - that I still have some mental and behavioral issues to deal with. So, I could only image what kind of mental and behavioral issue Tanner will have with his 'living' conditions on a daily basis. |

Here's the thing.. CHris does love Tanner. The problem that he had was everyone was just telling him to do one thing and that was to get rid of Tanner. I'm sorry, but there are other options and yes they will be done.. But most of you gals could not get past the crate. And no questions were even asked about the crate.. The size..What was in there.. ECT. Chris has never had a dog or a puppy.. SO he never knew what to expect. I of couse as I have mentioned before have had a few... He came here to get pointers and learn some new things. He was definitely deterred from that and it got to the point where just liked to come here to listen to you ladies comment on how he was treating the dog. Which I can tell you is nothing like he says. Plus.. Tanner grew to be scared of Chris.. Now chris is 6'3 and little tanner is no more than 5 inches off of the ground, so I can see how intimidating that can be. So Chris was extremely frustrated with that situation. Update on that situation: Tanner actually has put his ears up while near Chris.. It's a huge step. ANyways... regardless of who was at fault and the insults that were thrown.. I am definitely Heidi.. And chris is definitely Chris.. We are definitely two different people.. I have my own opinions and he does as well. He is definitely sarcastic and once he knows that he has your goat.. He will keep prying.. Just for future refrence.. ALthough he is banned forever. |

It just says suspended not banned under his name on his posts. I bet if he trys to get on in 7 days he can. I think that message that comes up is generic and probably comes up if your banned or susppended. At least I knew someone who got suspended and I thnk I remember them saying they got the same message |
reposting ... wondering what your take is on this comment that Chrismade?????? Originally Posted by chardjo That is not true.. I am not like that at all. Chris is getting better with Tanner. I think he is just upset that Tanner didn't attach to him like he did to me. Quote:

what you guys are all forgetting it seems,is that he posted another outrageous thread after this one. and maybe you didn't even get to see his thread because several people reported it and it got deleted(before many people saw it) and that is why he is suspended. i am referring to his thread a couple of nights ago where he was saying that people who lose their yorkies should be slapped senseless to make them wake up. he posted that and was EXTREMELy rude and opinionated. it was in very bad taste considering that we have two little lost yorkies on this forum right now. one because the owner was worn out from getting ready to move and just dozed off asleep. He portrayed himself as the perfect dog owner and just kept talking about these people with lost yorkies being so ignorant. That is what did it for me. yes, I am a YT veteran but i can tell you right now that i don't agree with the handful of you that say wipe the slate clean and start over. Evidently, some of you have not seen that thread. As for this 'veteran', I don't mind if he stays suspended or banned forever. The wonderful people on this forum that have had the misfortunate to lose one of their dogs, don't deserve to have to put up with this. Accidents happen and who does he think he is to comee on this forum and start bashing these people ass if they aren't hurting enough.. |
You know Heidi, I know I was upset because to me my Murfee is "not just a dog". he is my best buddy, my baby and I love him with all my heart. That is what I was trying to get across to Chris. If he just loves on Tanner and gives him a chance, he will have another significant other in his life. And also he came across like he was so very controlling over you and none of here like that either. Maybe as you say he was just trying to rile us up and it worked, but most of us here are really compasionate, caring people and are willing to forgive and start over....I know I am. Patty |

:goodpost: Yes, I saw that thread and posted on it in the very start of it. I only got to read his starter thread, but I can only imagine what else was said. And from him being suspended, it must have gotten really bad. I agree that having a Yorkie run away, lost or stolen has got to be one of the most horrific things to happen. I never stop praying for those. If Chris returns, he really must be cautious of peoples feelings, he may be joking or whatever, but there are really a lot of sensitive subjects that take place here. It is only common sense, common curtesy and respectfulness. |
Wow, I don't think I saw that thread... |
I read that last thread that NODAK wrote about lost puppies...and I agree that it was VERY VERY appalling. People do not lose their dogs on purpose, and for someone to outwardly attack them and call them stupid and ignorant was very wrong. I don't think NODAK should be banned, but I hope that he realizes that the people on here care very deeply about their pets and they don't take situations about lost puppies lightly. Good luck to Heidi and Chris...I hope they learn to take good care of Tanner. |

The people that have lost their Yorkies certainly don't need anyone bashing them like that. We beat ourselves up enough over it, no sense in rubbing salt in the wound. I lost my Starr because of a mistake (not cleaning under my bed often enough) I am so sorry for anyone that lost their baby and feels at fault. It's hard:( |
Lots of people didn't see that thread because it was gone QUICK - I saw it and all I kept thinking of what if someone who lost their pet to an accident saw it ? :( I thought it was mean and rude and the timing couldn't have been worse. I DID open my mouth & post - it was that bad. There were 2 missing Yorkie threads at the time :( and I don't know how many yorkies lost in accidents in the RIP section. I don't like seeing people banned but hope if he comes back he'll realize that we love dogs here and anyone that loses a pet to an accident will forever live with that pain. There will always a few out there who only post for REACTIONS and sure enough ...they get it LOL. |
