This is wonderful news
Now all we need is for Zeke to be found.
I had a scare this morning with Mr. Jack!
My boyfriend needed my help, loading his truck with heavy, garage doors and motors.
Jack, of course wanted to be outside with mom & dad.
I usually take him out every morning for his doo doo....
Well in the middle of us loading the truck...We took our eyes off Jack for a moment and I happened to look up and where do you think the lil devil was?
Across the street on the neighbors side walk peeing on her bush.
Thank GOD we live on a dead end and the cars don't drive that fast, being theres children and dogs & cats all around here.
I firmly told him to stay put as another truck was coming down the one way road.
He froze until I crossed the street and picked him up!
I reprimanded him and brought him right up stairs into our house.
I was shaking with fear thinking what if I didn't look up and catch him there and he ran across the street as the truck was coming...
He would have gotten hit and that would of been it!!!
I would of fainted.
I usually give him a cookie after he does his business outside every morning, but today, he got an ear full instead.
Little devil!
Sorry for the long post...

The reality is that there is likely ONLY one days worth of wages that can be paid to a PI.

It isn't wise to have him spend the whole day on a lead that has already turned out to be bad. According to the posting on this thread, the family that lives next door has not seen or heard any dog and the people who live there are elderly/alzheimers. He could stake the place out all day and find nothing, then "we" are no closer to locating the dog than we were in the beginning. Then all the PI money would be gone.

Hopefully that email info will come soon.
Why not use a program like accurint through lexis? I have had a lot of success with this program in tracking down people quickly and efficiently. I am not really an expert here as generally my process servers do this, but maybe start with the address of the first home where they said grandma had a similar dog, plug it in find out who has reported the address should give you names phone numbers and socials...Then search by the social which would give you all other folks associated with that number and the adds associated which from my experience will usually include spouses & birthmothers so maybe Grandma?

Now I am like I said no expert, but I think there should be some computer based tracking system that may be more cost effective than having a PI do all the leg work.

Confused Checking in...

Just checking in to see if anyone has a name and date for my dad yet???
I've been requesting this information all week and haven't gotten any response.
I just want to remind you...My dad needs the proper ammunition to use on these cops, so when he calls he is not in the dark.
Please respond with names you spoke with and dates you called.
Dad is going on vacation Sat and won't be back until 2 weeks.
I really want him to help get the lead out of these Modesto Cops.
Thankyou..Kat & Jack

Default Good Organizations

http://www.missingpet.net/

I found this website and hope it will help Maureen find Zeke.
We need to get as many organizations involved as we can.
They are out there and most of the funding is free.
Lets use them to help Zeke.
I hope this helps.

I think everyone is taking a break from all the drama.
I hope we can put aside emotions and focus on Zeke.
Maureen are you ok???
Feel free to PM me if you need to talk or vent.
I'm a good listener.
I'm also a great bartender and could pour you a nice cold beer or mix you up my famous apple martini...

Clock Be back later

Ok ladies...Taking off for awhile to take Jack to the pet store.
We need some pee pads and cookies.
Please let me know if there is any news on Zeke.
Are we still getting the PI today?
If not... I sent a link to free organizations that help locate missing pets.
I will continue praying and lit another candle or 4...
I also made up a flier to post in my local pet store on Zeke.
I know I live far away from Modesto, but you never know who may recognize Zeke here from out of town... visiting New England.
Every bit helps.

I think you have not been following the thread too closely.

You are right that there are systems that can be used to track people, but without an email with the lead information to get started nothing can be done. I don't have that information.

They know that the house they thought grandma was at is not really her house. So, they need to figure out where grandma lives. I think the only way to do that is to chase leads on what they know about her son/daughter.

So far, I have been waiting since Saturday for an email of their full names and address which I was told they have, but I do not have this information.

I also need the license number of the Tahoe they claim to have.

Also, I was told that a specific supervisor had been dealt with at the police department via Maureen's husband. I asked for an email with his name. I still do not have an email.

The suggestion of a PI was based on their sureness that this other house was the house and needing to get photos of the dog to submit to the police so they would act.

It is not possible for me to run any searches myself or get a PI on it without their sending this email to me. I also am not willing to call the police department about these "leads" when I don't even have the information myself. I think it is important that the supervisor get credible information from me, if I am to make contact.

I have had no information since my phone call on Saturday other than a PM (not from Maureen) that someone with access to a DMV system was running the plate.

Default Sounds~

Like a good lead if the boy said "That looks like Tahoe", and you are trying to get the plate off a Tahoe, I am in WI but have connections to the PD, let me know if I can try and get anything for anyone...
