I went to the Yorkie meetup here in Walnut Creek, CA on Sunday but by the time I got there I realized we did not bring the flyer's with us. BUT yesterday I went around Stockton, CA and put up the flyers in alot of the vet's, pet store's and of course the pound. I still have a few more places to go then I will be done, that means Stockton, CA will be covered :) |

Hi All, just checking in to see any updates on Zeke. I've hardly been around the past few days, so have not had access to my computer. I think it's really a great thing that all these posters continue to go up about Zeke. It makes me wonder if whomever has him has seen one of them?? And if he/she has, how do they go home and sleep at night knowing the torment they are causing. How do they look at that sweet little face and want to keep him away from his true family? I still hold onto the hope that eventually they will have to take Zeke to a vet. When Zeke is scanned for his microchip, Maureen's information will be displayed, and will not correspond with that of the "new owner". I do know that the Vet is then obligated to contact the individual that is listed as the owner. Every day, I still look at the shelter lists for missing yorkies. I have an email alert set with Petfinder. Hugs to you all, Lauren |

OK...I posted the thing on my page, but when I click on it, I get a "cannot find that page" message....anyone else having that problem? The picture is exactly like it is here, but the link doesn't go anywhere. Maybe it's just busy? |

I just happened to catch the one before it was flaged and She said she had placed it many times and they keep taken it off? I would like to know why but???? If they take hers off maybe they took one off that could have been Zeke? |
A very good friend of mine got her pet back because of a scanner, the pet was in Aspen, got lost, my friend had her registered with her vet in Texas, she was found in Aspen, scanned, and notified the Vet in Texas, who in turn notified the owner and she got her dog back, so I do believe that Vets, and mostly shelters do use scanners, I have 3 Vets I use in the Area, and know almost all the Vets, between Aspen, and Grand Junction, and I know they are required to have scanners, and are the ones who put in the micro chips, so I believe more Vets than not use them, expecially when notified that their is a missing, possibly stolen Yorkie, in the Modesto Area, Calif is way ahead of us in the number of animals that change hands because of population! So I am not going down that road that Vets do not use Scanners that are aware of the amount of missing yorkies in the Modesto Area, and the fact that there are a lot of theft rings that steal them. Especially when asked to scan any new customers who have an 18 mo old neutered pet that has been stolen. Vets do not have a reason to scan your pet when you bring it to them, as they have know you since you have had your puppy. But I do believe they scan new pet owners who bring in an older puppy for the first time, espically when so many are being stolen in Calif, and all over the country. I also do not want to think that the person who stole Zeke is headed to Mexico, after all the trouble they went to to get into this country, to steal a dog and go back to Mexico, that does not make any since to me. They can get a lot more money for a dog here than they can in Mexico, so to me they are not going to give up everything they have in this country to steal a yorkie and run to Mexico with it. I feel we should be concerned with what we can do here to get Zeke back, someone, somewhere knows where Zeke is, and with the large reward, i feel we will get him back. If he is in Mexico that door is closed, so why go down that path. I'd like to keep the focus positive, and do all we can to get information about Zeke as the person who took him has friends that i am sure could use 1,000.00, even the person who took him! That person could get Zeke returned by someone else, and if they really wanted a yorkie, they could get a puppy with that kind of money and take the pressure off themselves. I believe they steal yorkies to get rewards, not because of the love for the breed! Please Dear Lord bring Zeke home to Maureen. In the name of Jesus we thank you. Amen. These are just my thoughts, anything I guess is possible, but I feel Zeke is here in Calif. and hopefully will be found. |

Hi all. I'm going on a trip for about 10 days (furkids going with!) my skinkid will look after cats, so I wont be able to come to Yt till I get back. I have asked skinkid to check on here for me, just this thread, cause I need to know whats happening with Zeke. If anyone talks to Maureen, give her lots of love from me, I will keep on praying. I feel so useless being so far away:( Lauren I PMd you re: internet. Take care of yourselves and your Yorkies. Please find Zeke:) |
c.l. cant figure this one out I am a dealer of antiques in sonoma county. I do craigs list all the time/ When I first heard about zeke. I started looking on c.l. That is when I p.m. maureen and told her there are a lot of yorkis lost" or what ever in her area. so why are they not posting.your add??. 1. are you saying he is stolled or lost?? 2. is there to much info so poeple are flaging it. rules say "nothing illegal" so may be the posting should be mor like lost dog. did you know you can post in more than 1 town. i can post it here sonoma. i had a big sale and 2 people (competadors) did not like it and had it removed. i am wondering ... I am going to write the powers that be and see why. you cant post this on c.l. julie & tede-bare |
Jeannie, every single word you said above makes total sense. I agree with you completely. The vets I spoke to in the Modesto area, all have scanners and are on high alert for lost Yorkies. My dogs' microchips are read by all scanners, no matter the brand. Most are that way today - readable across the board. You bring up a good point also about the reward. With so many posters, myspace pages on Zeke, there is a good chance that he will be recognized by someone that has seen him with his new "owner". It is logical from that point, that just for the reward alone, they would be prompted to make a phone call to Maureen. I have not given up on Zeke. I just have such a strong feeling that he is out there, closer to Maureen than we could imagine. |
Okay covered a few more places today :) Someone has got to see these flyers they are going up all over Northern California... I have a few family members in Lodi, Ca so I will tell them about Zeke and whenever I go visit them I will put some flyers up there in their pet stores, etc.. (Lodi, CA is about 15 minutes from Stockton and Stockton is about 30 minutes from Modesto (where Zeke was lost from).. |

I soooooooo feel the same way!!!!! Thank you for your support, we have only had the reward posted for a few days, when the word gets out, the pressure will be on the one who took him, and will not want to be seen with him, cannot sell him, as would be reconigned, so will have a friend call Maureen for the reward and return him to her, and split the reward or whatever. That is a lot of money, and I feel he was taken to resale, my prayers remain full of hope that the Lord will bring him home to Maureen where he belongs, it is just going to take that one person to come forward for the money!!!!!! They will get another type of reward for what they have done and I'm not talking about money. I can not believe the amount of pain they have inflected on a young, beautiful, and loving person as Maureen, and I pray the Lord will make it right and help us get Zeke home, as we are all working and praying so hard for a happy ending to this thread. So everyone please keep the prayers coming, and the flyers going up, and the gifts for Zeke to bring him back home! somehow, someday, that little boy has to come home!!!!! Thanks to every one of you for the prayers, gifts, and the hope that Zeke will come home, without hope what do we have? This formum has been filled with more love and hope than any I have witnessed, I will continue to pray.................................and pray..........than pray some more!!!!! |
1 Attachment(s) I was just checking another "lost pet" sight and found a picture of this small neutered male. The info says he has been shaved because of matting, but his coloring is still very similar to Zeke's - blond face, darker coloring on the back. Tell me what you think. The ears do appear a bit longer than Zeke's, but it's hard to tell once a dog has been cut that closely. Here goes: Attachment 131956 |
