She is going to get together with Galeta(sorry if I miss spelled) today and she is a lawyer and they can go ove all the options. I trust her a a Lawyer and a Friend:) |
Hi - I said yesterday that I was free from 1-4 PM today. I had expected to get my puppy vaccinated this morning and then go off to a meeting, but the vet has changed the appointment until 1:40 PM. So . . . I will probably be more able to talk to Maureen between 2 and 5 PM. I will still have my phone with me at the vets, but it may be too distracting to have a conversation with a squirmy puppy at the vet. :) |
We remain POSSITIVE ABOUT ZEKE!!!!!!! Quote:
I couldn't agree more, and we would never slander anyone. We have been glued to the computer for almost 6 weeks, Zeke could not be closer to me if he were my own. We have a great bunch on board that feel the same way. I doubt that Tahoe turns out to be Tahoe, you were not there, and did not see the looks that could kill when the kid said Dad that's Tahoe, this is not a blind pursue!!!!!! We have been tracking, and looking at every lead available, also putting up posters that continue to be taken down in that area. The father first said he thinks all dogs look like Grandmas dog, and then said The Grandmother had seen a dog in that area that looked like Zeke. A while back a lady came in and said she saw a little yorkie loose in that area at night. This area is very close to Maureen Lives. So believe me we are not doing a blind search, and getting a lawyer, and a PI involved because we do not have any clues that are profound!!!!!!!!! I am sorry about your insenative feelings about the case we all want ZEKE home at any cost. I am sure the officer in charge will listen to a lawyer and a PI, much more than he will listen to Maueen, Maureen is so raw from all this and hurt, that it is so good to have Galatea and a Pi on board to take some of the pressure and put the pressure where it belongs on the officer!!!!!!!!! I hate to tell you, if it is ZEKE he than is a stolen dog, as posters are everywhere in that area, and the grandson identified the dog, and they haven't bothered to return him for the reward, that is a felony harboring a stolen animal!!!!! That stolen animal cost over 1300.00, so the police should take this very seriously!!!!! We are on this forum to stay positive, and positive it will be, we will not tolerate anyone telling us anything negative, or doing anything to put a negative line around this very important case. We are not the bad guys here!!!!!! Thanking you for sticking up for Zeke and all of us here who feel just the same. We have our heart, body and soul in this case, and we will get ZEKE back home where he belongs, hell or high water!!!!!!!!!!! He will be returned to Maureen and justice will be served!!!!!!!! It's not o.k. for some one to pick up a lost yorkie or any dog, and keep it without putting an add in the paper, and believe me they have seen the posters and they know what they are doing, they are committing a felony by not returning ZEKE!!!!! We are not the bad guys here, may I make that clear. We have not accused or slandered anyone, we are not that dumb. However we do have a right to do everything in our power to get Zeke back, and we are following the law, I can't say the same for the people who STOLE ZEKE!!!!!!!!! |

I think it is good that Maureen has not been able to reach officer Nickerson, It is soooooooooo important that Maureen update Galatea on everything she has done, and everything she knows, so Galatea can communicate that to the Officer and the PI that she chooses to hire for us. I think we have enough gifts for a full day. And I know we will get many more gifts, when we ask again. After Maureen and Galatea have had their conversation and I am sure both will be taking notes, then is the time for Officer Nickerson to contact Galatea, not Maureen, Galatea knows how to deal with the officer to get his best foot forward, and get going for up. He will be glad to know that the PI will be doing footwork that the officer should have been doing but has not. All the officer will have to do is to present the facts to the judge, to get the search warrants and we have ZEKE, the problem is he could be in any of three addresses. More than likely the first address the Father of the son gave. I hope you all had a good ret, and Galantea you have really been burning the candle at both ends for us, we all can not thank you enough for all you are willing to take on. Thank you!!!!!! Galantea, I just called the Modesto Police Station, and Sue answered the extension that belongs to Officer Nickerson, so it is possible Officer Nickerson is off, and that is why the call are not being returned. I have asked Sue to please phone me and let me know when officer Nickerson will be available. Since we can not get the PI until the 1st of Aug. That is o.k. it gives Maureen and Galantea time to really go over the case and make sure nothing is missing. Then I am sure Galantea will see to it that our PI has the necessary information to get started. Love to you all who have been die hards on this case with us. We are getting so close, I really feel from the bottom of my heart we will get Zeke back with the help of Galantea and the PI, I don't see how we could lose. I am sure they will be able to convince the officer the importance of a search warrant, and hopefully the judge will see it the same way! Jeannie:thumbup:     |

The problem IS WE NEED TO SEE THE DOG TO ID HIM, WE HAVE TO HAVE A SEARCH WARRANT, AS THEY ARE JUST NOT GOING TO HAVE ZEKE IN THEIR ARMS WE THEY ANSWER THE DOOR. WE NEED TO CONVINCE THE POLICE OF THE IMPORTANCE OF A SEARCH WARRANT, AND IN TURN THE OFFICER HAS TO CONVINCE THE JUDGE!!!!!!! I think it is good that Maureen has not been able to get ahold of Officer Nickerson, as I feel it is much more important for Galantea and Maureen to be on the same page, Maureen has a lot of catching up to do with Galantea, than Galantea needs to contact the police officer, so this is working out o.k. as we can not have the PI before the 1st which gives us more time to get more gifts for Zeke so we can hire him for a couple of days. I've got to get off line, see you all in the evening. I can't wait to see how the conversation goes with Galantea and Maureen, and the plans they will make together to get this job done. Thanks everyone for lighting all the candles and for your wonderful prayers, I will catch up again this evening. Jeannie:D |
Morning dear ones! Just had to take a quick look here before the day of Wedding Insanity commences. I see some frustration here in the past hours since I've been gone, which is understandable. After so long nerves tend to get a bit frayed. Jeannie, you are so level-headed Hon, so I know you can keep us all together. And with Lori's sweetness of soul, and Kathy's sheer optimistic spirit, and Maureen's determination, the search will continue until Zeke is home. We ALL are connected by this bond of love we feel for our Yorkies, but opinions can differ from one person to the next, that is what makes us individuals. But look how many amazing people we have here, reaching out from all over - from lawyers, to police officers' family members, to translators..... the list goes on and on. I just do not understand the attitude of the Modesto police. Pity one of them have not had a beloved pet stolen. Unfortunately, unless you have gone through something similar, it is sometimes difficult to truly empathize with a situation. When the PI is hired, I think his time has to be OPTIMIZED on the most productive days possible, because of limited funds. The most likely days this Yorkie will be out and about, I feel, are on the weekends. Having him monitor those addresses on weekdays might be pointless and a waste of resources. Please think about this. Families work during the week, and tend to spend time together Saturday and Sunday. If Maurreen can only afford 2 days of investigation, surely those should be the ones? I won't have too much time today, but just want you all to know, you are never far from my mind, because you are always in my heart. Lauren |
I have been reading this post every day in hopes for reading about Zeke's return. I just wanted to share an encouraging story... When I was about 7 yrs old, my mom looked out the window and saw that a Lhasa Apso had wondered into our backyard (it was during the winter). She immediately went outside, took the puppy in, warmed him up and fed him. Upon looking at the collar, she saw his name (Reggie) and a phone number, which was long distance (over an hour away from us). She called and asked "Are you missing your dog?" Turns out - Reggie was a very expensive dog who had been stolen over SIX MONTHS PREVIOUSLY. The woman was elderly and immediately broke down in tears. Long story short - the groomer had actually stolen the dog and sold it to someone who we believe lived in our neighborhood. It could never be proven so there were no official charges against them, and the husband came and picked up her dog. About six weeks later the man called us back that the wife had passed away and he was going into a retirement home, and offered Reggie to my mom free of charge because he knew how attached we had become in the few days that we had him, and he thought Reggie needed to be in a home with children. Reggie lived with us for the next 11 years, but the moral of the story is.... the woman passed away with her Reggie at her side - he was returned to her after 6 months. So never give up hope!!! Someone with a good heart in the right place will do the right thing... |
