I think that the Breiwer and Parti's are cute! I was thinking of getting one after I get my Yorkie. So I might be looking for one in February/ march of next year! I want to do a bit of research first. I have visited the web sights of a few breeders and they are lovely little things!

Try to see some in person at either the breeders or some of the local dog shows. They are beautiful to see in person--it is like instant love.

Default Still Curious....

I also am throwing the idea around....I have 2 yorkies Bella and Diggy. I have my boy and I have my princess....so I wouldnt care about sex, or anything else just a healthy baby. Im not a breeder and dont show...Im just a plain ole momma lol How much do these dogs cost? Are there rescues for them??? I just noticed they go for thousands....Thats steep.....Do you ever come across cheaper ones that are not show quality or breedable or do they always cost thousads?? I wouldnt get one for awhile...I need to research more and meet one....so lots to do before I would take on a another breed. But if they are just regular yorkies with a piepald gene missing Id assume they are the all the same? Do they run the same risk of Hypo? Compromised liver? Baby teeth usually needing extracting?

www.dogbreedinfo.com has a lot of information and they do have Biewer information, what the difference is I can't tell except they seem to be a German line of Yorkies, so then what is a Parti-Yorkie? Just another name maybe? i have no clue, but i would love to know!

I belive that the price is because of how rare these dogs are in the US. The breeder has to follow strict breeding rules from Germany and test have to be done one each puppies to ensure the best of health. At least that is what I have read at sites about these dogs. I too am researching them right now and I am thinking about getting one next February/ March. I will be setting some money aside till then! I have emailed a few breeders and asked Questions, they probibly think I am nuts with what I have asked!

I live in Sandusky, Ohio. Where exactly are you located? My sister in law lives in Toledo! We venter that way at times! Are you looking into breeding the Biewer or just to have as a pet? When I get my lil boy Yorkie, I am going to be breeding him, but I wanted to show him a few times before I do that, I am going to get a show/breed quality one so why not show him first? I will do the same with a Biewer when I get him next year. I am a stay at home mom and the boy's are getting into their teens and I have been giving this so much thought since I will have plenty of time to be involved!

I am in Monroe, Mi we come to Cedar Point a lot! (best place EVER!! lol) So we are not too far away to try and do this together....We do have different intentions tho. I have a female Bella 2 spayed. Diggy my male is 14 weeks. I am not educated enough on breeding to attempt to breed yet. I am not opposed to getting informed and educated by any means tho. I work about 30 hours a week have 2 skin kids Tannar 12 in July And a daughter Avery 15 in Sept. So mine are getting older too and not requiring as much of my time besides being at the gym or at a ball field...both are 3 sport athletes lol I mostly want one for a pet and not show or breed. Either way I guess you could get the pick of the litter (best for show and breeding) and Ill take the misfit to spoil and make fat ha! How much info do you have so far?? Im just learning about the history of the breed. My regualr email is paulatomsic@comcast.net if you want to exchange thoughts and info that way or we can do it in here either way is fine with me!!

Too bad you aren't in the market for one to spoil as a pet now; you sound like you could be perfect biewer puppy parent.

They can still be prone to the same health risks as the traditional colored Yorkies...they are 100% Yorkie, just carry the piebald gene. You just have to make sure that you trust the breeder that you get your puppy from. I have only had Livi for 3 and a half weeks but completely adore her! As a future breeder, I think it will be very difficult to say goodbye to my babies! I have attached some pictures of Livi...please ignore the hair. She was determined to get that clip out of her hair, so she made herself a mess with scratching until she got it out. Smart and spunky!

I don't know how I missed this. I check YT several times a day for interesting looking topics! You all have been right about the Biewers and the Partis. They are basically the same except the Partis have NO standards, are recognized by AKC, but CANNOT be shown. The Biewers have standards for where the white MUST be, (legs, belly, tip of tail, head), and of course the standards for build, but they are the same for the standard yorkies. Biewer is the name of the German man that "developed" this breed. The Biewers are mostly registered in Germany, but there are many clubs/registries popping up in the US. I feel that to hold true to the German roots, they should be registered in Germany. There are many registries in Germany with the IBC being the largest. Pam and I have three Biewer puppies at this time. We have a boy and girl that are 18 weeks old and will be around 6 pounds fully grown and I also have an 8 week old boy that will be around 4-5 pounds grown. I think my little boy is exceptional. He is very level, short cobby legs, good tail and ear set. He should make a good show/breeding candidate.
