I don't know how I missed this. I check YT several times a day for interesting looking topics! You all have been right about the Biewers and the Partis. They are basically the same except the Partis have NO standards, are recognized by AKC, but CANNOT be shown. The Biewers have standards for where the white MUST be, (legs, belly, tip of tail, head), and of course the standards for build, but they are the same for the standard yorkies. Biewer is the name of the German man that "developed" this breed. The Biewers are mostly registered in Germany, but there are many clubs/registries popping up in the US. I feel that to hold true to the German roots, they should be registered in Germany. There are many registries in Germany with the IBC being the largest. Pam and I have three Biewer puppies at this time. We have a boy and girl that are 18 weeks old and will be around 6 pounds fully grown and I also have an 8 week old boy that will be around 4-5 pounds grown. I think my little boy is exceptional. He is very level, short cobby legs, good tail and ear set. He should make a good show/breeding candidate. |
