| NEW to YT Hi. I am new here. My name is Trinnie and I have a female yorkie: 3 years old and weighs 3lbs. I have been lurking around YT for about 5-6 months just looking for helpful information and never signed up. I hope I don't offend anyone here but from what I've seen over the past 5-6 months, most of the threads here are based on popularity (who submits the thread) rather than helping other yorkie owners. Again, I don't want to be rude or offend anyone. I have noticed that people post threads and gets no attention and people that have been here for a while or those that sell doggy clothes get a lot of response to their posts. Why is that? Isn't this a community where all yorkie owners come for help? |

| Hi Welcome! Glad you decided to sign in. I don't think anyone is purposely overlooked. Sometimes when there are a lot of people posting your post will go to page 2 in a very short time and may be overlooked. I think it has happened to everyone. I have learned a lot from this site and I love to be in the midst of other Yorkie people. Again, welcome aboard!

| I thought the same thing at first but... these women/men have been here for a long time, they have bought babies off each other, helped bring new babies in the world together, have met up with each other, they have formed lasting friendships, bought clothes from each other for years, etc. and all of us new YT members will have the same thing it will take us a while to learn each others names, babies names, etc. They are all friends and we are the new friends we are all learning each other, just like a REAL family. OH almost forgot Welcome, to YT. I am Rhonda my husband is Jack and we have two beautiful, spoiled babies Seth and Sasha. They are 6 months old and they are brother and sister. You will really love it here.

| I think what you're seeing is some groups of people who have known each other for a long time and who have watched each other's kids and pups grow up together, that's all. I'm a new yorkie owner, have had mine for 9 mos., and I have learned ALOT here and have made friends with several people. So, post away and get to know everyone! |

| hi , welcome to YT. As you have probably already noticed there are some areas that you can access with a membership that you could not before. such as the 'new posts'. I think most everyone hits this section when they first get on the forum. There are a lot of threads that go without a lot of responses. I know, for me, I miss quite a bit because I don't spend all day catching up. Or .. I read the responses and don't have any more to add to what has already been said. If you have been reading posts for the past 5 months I am sure you have seen lots of helpful threads. Have there been any that have been a particular help or interest to you? sometimes i do a search on a particular subject and wonder how I could have misses a thread that I find a year later. I also think that I probably would be more likely to respond to a thread that was started by someone that I have met in person. I am sure that would be true of a lot of people. This forum is not only for yorkie owners to come for help but also for the fun and info of all sorts. its a place where you can talk about your yorkies anytime and no one will get tired of hearing about it. Its a place to get support when you lose your best friend. In all the time that I have been a member here I have seen wonderful things happen. such as one member (can't even remember who it was) needed help with her yorkie while she battled breast cancer. To have a stranger offer to keep your dog for you while you are in the hospital is amazing to me. This is that kind of forum. I hope you enjoy it here as much as I have. Dont get me wrong, it isn't perfect. there have been times when there are nasty comments that have almost sent me packing... over all tho... this is the first place i come to if i need support or need help with anything. shoot, you need a recipe for dinner... its here. sorry this is so long. I do hope you enjoy it here and post a pic of your baby we love pictures too.

| I know what everyone mean by people getting to know each other. My cousin, who happens to be a member of this forum, told me about this site and I hesitated to join at first because of insecurity I guess. I wondered what people would think of me if posted something weird or out of the norm. As for my cousin, she told me that she asks stupid questions all the time and maybe she is more comfortable than I am with this forum. BTW, my yorkie's name is Princess Mia and I also have a 4-year-old maltese name Prince Charming. I have owned my yorkie for almost 3 years and she is a spunky little girl. I would post pictures but I don't have a camera. I would get my cousin to post pictures for me but she is always busy with pharm school. Maybe when she is free, I'll get her to do it. |

| Okay here goes. I took this with my phone so it's not as clear. She looks a mess because she's been playing with my sister's golden retriever. |

| Awwww she's soooo cute. Yes, we must see prince charming too. that's the good thing about YT, they accept more than just yorkie's. I have a yorkie and a shih poo and I talk about both of them all the time. Here's some pics of my boys.

| Prince took a mini-vacation with my fiance's family and won't be back until next Friday so I can't post pictures of him yet. At first I thought that maltese and yorkies never get along. Boy, I was wrong. They absolutely love each other. I just realized that I got the best of both worlds (Yorkie and Maltese) |
