| For anyone who has a older yorkie! I was speaking w/a woman who had been a yorkie breeder for 17 years and she told me that even the best bred yorkie w/ a top knotch blood line will still have problems w/their trachea's when they are senior dogs. There is just know way around that. I am wondering if this is true and if so what do you do? |

| I didn't know that. I don't look forward to it at all. Bud's only 3 and gets reversed sneezing when he gets excited. Hope that's all that happens. |

| I don't know that I agree with that. I just had to be careful with Muffin and not pull too hard on her leash when she was old - she always wore a harness. It was usually her pulling, though, and not me! If she did pull, then she would cough. Otherwise, she never had any trouble.

| All Yorkies may have problems when they are getting older . Bloodlines have nothing to do with it . |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I never heard that and I had a Yorkie who lived to 11.5 and was around others who had them between 13-17 years and never had such problems. Ozzie will be 10 next week and he DOES cough/reverse sneeze when he gets excited or when he decides to get up close and personal with cleaning agents (particularly Lysol spray), the trash or potpourri. |

| i would say to some extent that is true. the trachea could have been damaged earlier in life (without your knowledge) and over the years cause a problem. i would say that the bloodline wouldn't have anything to do w the trachea (i could be wrong)
