So far Autumn has not eaten much of any value but I had a Great Dane mix that ate a pair of $300 eye glasses! |
My Gucci handbag ($795) and my True Religion jeans ($220) The handbag was repaired under warranty and my jeans were turned into shorts. |

My livingroom verticals. I don't think Libby chewed them on purpose, but she gets tangled in the chain when looking out the window and then I think she breaks them. This is a huge window that goes nearly to the floor. It's going to cost me a pretty penny to replace them! I'll wait until Libby's over her puppy stage! LOL |
Okay I'm not the only one who has CHEWING Yorkies!! Thank goodness I thought it was just my 3! Well lets see when Tiffanie and Teddy we're little it was the rungs (Spelling there) on my MOTHER's Kitchen chairs all of them (4 peice set!!!) yeah and I resanded them down and painted them and Justin took them back to her when we got our new set guess what happened 3 chairs and the table flew out of the truck and shattered all over the road, my mom laughed at it thank goodness but here I'm thinking I took all that time to HIDE what my beautiful, sweet little Yorkies did so my Mom wouldn't think that my babies was bad and U just let it FLY out the TRUCK!!!!! LOL! It was funny tho. So then we got the new table!!!!! WHY BOTHER!!!!!!! They are all chewed on now, I've tried everything to keep them from chewing!! Oh and the best thing I found to work is ICY HOT, YEP GIRLS IT WON'T HURT THEM @ ALL, when U catch them biting on ANYTHING U don't want tore up, rub a little of that on their nose/lip and they will stop!!!! I even put it on things, but U have to do it often tho. I get the baggie out with it and Tiffanie's hiding, I use it on my 8 year olds legs a lot for they hurt a lot. I know some of U think that may sound mean but it isn't. I was watching animal planet and a lady took her dog to the vet for chewing her table he said to use, perfume. I haven't tried that yet. Let's see chewing the wall, yep, carring cages both of them, boot trays, carpet...The list goes on! I hope it will all stop I thought it did with Tif WRONG, she chewed my boot trays (One in the kitchen and one in the living room) I NOW put them up, thought I had the living room Tiff proofed WRONG, I kept finding white plastic, searched everything, thought she had gotten a hold of my grandaughter's toys NO then yesterday I went to sweep/mop my living room and I told Jestik my 8 year old daughter here's another peice of that white stuff where in the world is it coming from? She just happend to look at her new dog carrier (A big big one) and yep she'd chewed all around the 2 front sides up on it!!!!! So now we have NO dog carriers to go see the vet without being embarressed for these Yorkie's CHEWING!!!!! I don't know why Tiff is chewing, I thought it's cause she's so big stretching with her babies, I've bought her 3 or 4 different Kongs shoot no help!!!!!!!! I just keep anything up for her and she's in the living room now and the 2 boys are in the kitchen until babies come. Then she'll be so busy she won't have time to chew, but then there's what TEETHING  babies lol oh well have like 6 Kong passies for them so maybe well be okay! Hugs, Lee & Babies |

Wesley chewed my brand new glasses. They cost over $100. I had them for about a week. I put them on the coffee table and took a nap. When I woke up I found them on the floor with teeth marks on the glass parts. He didn't break all the way through the glass (thank goodness, that would've been dangerous), but he left teeth marks in them. I'm still wearing them until I can afford new ones. :( |
Our dogs really dont chew much. I think the most expensive thing Tucker destroyed was a $5 bill or something like that. However, my lab eats everything in sight. Once we went out for a few hours, left some cookies in their plastic container up on the counter with the top on. We came home and the cookies were GONE and the container was on the floor open. another time he ate a good pound of fudge that my grandma made. all of this and he never even had a stomach ache. |
WOW! I guess I lucked out. My 2 pretty much just chew on their toys and nothing of any value of mine. BUT, absolutely nothing is safe from my dtr's 2 pitbull mixes. Every piece of furniture has chewed legs, couches and chairs are replaced too often, comforters are replaced every couple months, and we can't begin to count the number of eyeglasses, remotes, chargers, cords, shoes, bras(they love to tear out the underwires), oh...the list goes on and on. But the worst destruction I know of was the time my cousin left his German Shepard in his new truck to run into the house for a few minutes, came out, and the entire dashboard and the glass in one window (which had been half-way down) was GONE! The dog totally destroyed them in a matter of minutes. Good news is, after a trip to the vet, the dog was fine. Bad news, BIG bill for truck repair. |
Buddy has chewed up many things in his puppyhood. The most expensive were: 1. My glasses - 250.00 2. The bottom out of my blue velvet LR chair- 150.00 to replace 3. 13 throw rugs - 200.00 value It finally stopped around 1yr old. Thank heavens because he kept me broke!:p |
Husband's hearing aid... around $1000.:( |
Let's see... Tinka chewed through two Buddy Belt harnesses - one I got repaired. She also chewed through one of Chattiesmom's silk harnesses, which Cindy repaired - it's like new! Other than that, I keep them pretty busy with toys and bully sticks and they don't bother much else. (except each other, that is. They tend to chew on each other when wrestling!) |
Rocky is really good about chewing on only his own toys, but my mom's dog Gizmo once chewed up a pair of metallic pink pumps of mine that I only wore once  I can't remember if they were the most expensive thing he ever chewed up ($80, but I got a discount on them), but it definitly was the most upsetting for me |
