| Lisa - my little one is 9 oz now, he was 2 weeks on Monday. I am still feeding him alone once a day, but he seems to hold his own with the giants, now about 18 - 22 oz. I tried to feed him at 1 week, he just spit the milk out. They ALL have their eyes open now. Zowie is finally looking less skinny, I give her goats milk, cottage cheese and canned puppy food - twice a day. Julz - My kids have been swimming 2 months now! Me, only 3 weeks, pool is about 86 degrees already. At least we got all that done before puppies. Who went to ER? Hope all are ok.

| Hi Laura Wow, 9 ounces, that is great, like mine the bigger ones are almost double their size. But like I said, they are all really vibrant, moving around, mostly on top of eachother like mini tractors. One of them has her eyes open, a kind of grey/brown color, I am so excited! I swear I wasn't as excited when my kid got her first tooth-it is a real addiction these puppies!! I tried to give the littlest one a bottle, but she is too little, should I try a syringe and drip in her mouth? Another question, living in Israel and a very hot climate, I haven't used any products against fleas, and they are all over the pups (in my LINEN CLOSET!!!) but I don't think they are harmful, are they? Write me back soon with advice...I'm waiting (the girls are in the tub so I have a few minutes...)

| Liliput, about those fleas.....I haven't had experience with puppies having them, but we had a litter of Siamese kittens that did. The vet said to use flea powder on the mother and some would rub off on the kittens. Technically you can't use any product on them so young. Hope you get rid of them...they can make animals and humans equally miserable! Yikes!! |

Hi Laura, My daughter had to go to the ER due to a horrible ear ache. she is much better today, you know how those kids swing back! I did have to take my puppies to the vet today, two of them have the teeniest little sniffles. the vet gave me antibiotics for them. Poor little buggers.

| Julz, glad you daughter is better, hope the pups get better quick, too. Sounds like you got a little cold going around the family. Lisa - I tried an eye dropper, bottle, and syringe. It would go in his mouth, but he shut his mouth and it came out. The vet said she could show me how to tube feed, I think sticking a tube in their stomach. I decided to hand feed with mommy as long as he could latch on. He was 4oz at birth, 4 oz at 3 days, 5 oz at 4 -5 days, I just kept weighing him every day to make sure he did not lose. On day 4 I spent several hours lying with him and his mother making him eat, making her be still. Get one of your kids to help if you have some a little older. Keep feeding mom a couple oftimes a day. I think I would try to ignore the fleas a little longer. Maybe change their bed a couple of times a day, use towels, they launder easier. I think it is just safer to wait. I don't think the fleas will hurt them as much as the poison.

| Hi Laura As usual, thanks for the great advice ...I wouldn't use a flea product when she was pregnant, and I definitely won't use one now . I will just change the blanket everyday. They all have their eyes open now ( I will send pics as soon as my camera comes back from repair-remember the fork incident with the flash??) They are gaining weight everyday (even if it is 10 grams) but they have more than doubled their birth weight, but it is funny to see how much bigger the 3 "thugs" are, double their size!! I will send pics SOON! I really don't know how I would get through this without you guys...I even sneak online at work (they all speak hebrew anyway) and get my 'yorkietalk' dose! Julz- I hope your little one is better, earaches are the pits\ worse than toothaches. Did they have to open his eardrum?(paracentesis)

Hi Laura, Brittani (the child - 12 years old) is getting better, thanks. To tell you the truth I thought she was faking it at first because it came up very shortly after I told her she was going to mow some grass (LOL). The 2 male puppies are a little congested. I asked the vet how this could happen because I am so CAREFUL and she said, "It just happens". Makes me feel like I did something wrong...but for the life of me I can't figure out what it could have been. Talk to you later! Hey Lisa, I hope you read this......have you ever heard of "Brewers Yeast"? It is great for a dogs skin and coat and I have also found that it repells fleas. It is a stinky little pill (bought mine at WalMart) that dogs love. I guess the smell repells fleas. It is a very safe product, you are even supposed to add to the dose for pregnant or nursing females. Just a thought! Julz

Yes, they are both AKC and the traditional color. My Mom bred her three females to this same little male and all of her puppies (6 combined) are tradtional colors. As a matter of fact, Tiah's pups are 10 days old now and 3 puppies of my Mom's are 4 days old...she had 2 of her Yorkies give birth within 8 hours of each other!
