| Okay is my furbaby a silky terrier? Okay so yesterday I went to Petsmart and I got stopped and asked if my dog was a silky terrier? I answered no he is a yorkshire terrier. Well today out of curiosity I looked up silky terrier. And What if my killer is a silky not a yorkie? He's body is a little longer that than I guess it should be. He weighs four pounds, has very light color hair(that I never have to brush!) He is although a AKC full registered Yorkshire. So am I just being touchy? I'll post some pics soon!

| i doubt that he is a silky at four pounds. they are larger. yes, they are longer in the body but so are a lot of yorkies. don't worry about it. |

| I looked at his dogster page too- he is 100% yorkie. He doesn't look a bit like a silky to me- it was probably someone who just isn't familiar with yorkies.

| Geez, are Petsmart employees paid to scrutinize the dogs that come in all of the time and give their unwanted opinions. This is the second thread this week about the same thing. They work at a Pet store and that makes them qualified to be judges I guess. |

| Oh, it's not just Petsmart or Petco employees that are qualified to pass judgement on whether any particular yorkie is a true yorkie...apparently any living, breathing person who has ever seen a yorkie, has a relative with a yorkie or just knows the word yorkie is qualified to tell you that your yorkie is either a) HUGE...these people always always know of someone with a TEACUP yorkie that looks EXACTLY how a "REAL" yorkie should look or....b) not a full-bred yorkie, you must have a MIX and you were just too STUPID to realize it, papers or not...or c)Silky, again you are just too stupid to realize this, again papers notwithstanding If I only had a quarter for everyone of these qualified people who tell me about my dogs....I could afford to buy one of those REAL yorkies
