| Just my luck I finally found a great breeder about 3 1/2 hours away and my landlord (who happens to be my grandfather) said no! My grandmother on the other hand asked how much? and then told me she would help me pay. Now I don't know what to do. I can't even hide it because they live next door and the puppy would have to go outside. My grandmother said she would try and talk to him. I was thinking about paying rent for the dog to be here. I was thinking 50-100 a month. I don't know. Does anyone have any way I could convince him otherwise? |

| It was hard for me to convince my grandmother for anything, although she wasn't living with me. I don't have any ideas for you. Hopefully someone else does. |

| Thanks. They don't actually live with me they live in the house next door.. which is kind of annoying right now. You should have seen my grandmothers face when I showed her pictures. Her face lit up and immediatly wanted to help. My grandfather is so close minded. He automatically assumes that every animal shed alot and that they are all dirty. I'm going to bring up the paying him rent thing to him tomorrow. I could always just spend my summer there and help out though that might drive me insane. I'm suprised he ever had dogs. Even if they were hunting dogs that lived outside. Gahh. This is so frustrating. Lupa his dog when he was first married was 1/2 wolf 1/2 GSD and they loved that thing. Thats the only dog they considered clean. Maybe I'll bring that up. |

| Maybe it would help if you found out the reason he doesn't want the pup there so you can discuss the issue w/ him....

| His reason he doesn't like dogs is because they are 'dirty and they shed'. There is no arguing with him. With him its his way or no way. It took me years to get my first dog. And suprisingly he bought it for me and my sister. I plan on going over there tomorrow after my 2 finals and shoot aton of info about yorkies at him. Its not like he has to pay. They are small I'm buying her. I found a breeder. I have the money (well most of it) and I even planned ahead for vet expenses toys a crate shots leash harness and clothes. I spent an hour last night figuring it all out. |

| I hope so too. I printed out a piece of paper that has a ton of info about yorkies and how they shed little to no hair. |

| They don't shed and they're also clean....at least mine is. I bathe him once a week, but he also grooms himself....like a cat. They can be trained on potty pads inside or they can go outside. Either way, they are easy to clean up after because they are so small. good luck convincing grandpa. I'm a grandma, and I wouldn't be able to say no lol |

| Maybe he's just worried about the way some puppies chew things and 'go' on the carpet. As a landlord, I would have to think about it, the property is probably part of their investment. It's expensive replacing things in a house. I do hope you can convince him that you'll take extra care with the puppy.

| I'm trying so hard. Only technically its their house. When my mom got married he bought the house an a few years later my mom an her now ex-husban were supposed to buy it but they divorced an well decades later evrything in the house is ours. If I argue that they clean themselves his thing is that makes it worse because shes licking herself. When actually I rea an article that dogs mounthes are cleaner than humans. Does anyone know a link to that artcle? My grandmother only has five grandkids.. We're her 'little angels' and she spoils us. Its my grandfather who is oldfashion and believes that animals belong outside. Maybe I can show him how prepared and well-informed I am. I already cleaned and cleared a 4 1/2 by4 1/2 area for a puppy in my room. I don't know if its big enough though. I spent a wicked long time making sure it was safe an that it couldn't escape. (That took three hours. I was procrastinating I have finals all this week an tomorrow I have my last two then I'm out for summer) Money wise I have three hunred twenty towards 800 and my grandmother is going to to give me some I figured with the vet and all I totaled about 1100. So I have some books and things that I'm going to sell that will get about 2-300 and I like to draw sketches and also I like fooling around with different things when drawing so I'm going to make 40-50 unique drawings and sell them on ebay for 12 dollars. |

| IF you go very prepared for all of his questions, cost of all the care, and YOU can manage it maybe this will help. The other question as a mother and grandmother I have to ask...do you pay them rent, electric etc.. and take care of yourself totally? I know, I do not mean but the other problem maybe he is worried that you can not take care of a dog (baby) if you can not take care of yourself. If you do take care of yourself then I am sorry I even brought it up
