Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | ![]() No problem at all, and yes this site is a blessing. If you can get some Nutrical Most pet stores even Meijer carries it. He will get all the nutrience (sp?) he needs from it while his appetite isnt up to par. My kids went out of their minds when Diggy seized to. I feel for your son having to see it. AWFUL! I can think back to it (3 weeks ago) and still get choked up. He was so pitiful and it always happened in middle of night or early morning when everything was closed and everyone was sleeping so i was alone. What time of day did he have his seizure?

| ![]() The other paranoid Paula here! Welcome to YT. I see you are a fellow Hoosier! I hope Buddy is improving. Ask all the questions you want, there are some very smart people with many years of yorkie experience on this board. I have a 3 yr old yorkie, Otis, that has developed some liver issues in the last month. I was a hot mess when he started having symptoms. Yorkietalk helped me sooooo much. Get well soon Buddy, keep us updated.

| ![]() It happened around 8:30 yesterday morning. I had just stepped out and my son was with him. My poor son who is 25 years old cried like a baby. Fortunately my sister who lives next door was able to transport Buddy and my son to the vet. When I arrived he had came out of most of the seizure but today he is very weak and seems like he isn't hungry. I just called the vet and told her I will be back tomorrow morning unless I see a great improvement in him. All kinds of tests came back fine so I think it is infection. The vet said infection showed in the bladder test. He is taking antibiotic but I can see he will not bounce back quickly. This is such a shock to me. We just never dreamed he would have anything like this happen. Thanks for caring. I feel I have made some friends today on here. It is comforting. I am so happy I found you guys |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | ![]() Is he eating anything yet?? Diggy ate chicken, scrambled egg, and rice well. I substituted Chicken with ground turkey and ground sirloin. Try cheerios, corn flakes, or any kind of fruit besides grapes. Baby carrots and green beans went over well along with baby food like sweet potatoes, chicken, and turkey. Thats all my lil stinker would eat for 3 weeks. ![]()

| ![]() No he is not eating yet. Yesterday when I first brought him home he drank alot of water. He also ate a little bit. I am going to try some of these things you said and see if he will eat them. All he is doing is drinking chicken broth with the syringe that came with his antibiotic. I am going to the kitchen and whipping up some scrambled eggs to see if he would eat that. Thanks! |

| ![]() If his bladder infection was bad enough, he could've gotten septic. You may already know this, but that's when the infection goes into your blood. It's a serious infection and can cause odd behavior, but I'm not sure about seizures. I could be way off here, but hopefully the medicine will kick in after a couple days and he'll be good as new. He's probably not eating much because he doesn't feel good. Don't worry, just try to find something he will eat and keep him hydrated. Whatever it is, it's probably not unusual for it to take a few days to feel better. Hang in there!! ![]()

| ![]() Hey Diggy! I got him to eat a couple of crackers that I dipped in the chicken broth. He always did like crackers. Within a minute he took a drink of water from his bowl. I am so relieved. Before I tried the eggs I thought he might eat crackers. My husband who works second shift was so relieved to see him eat something. We have all cried about him being so sick. My husband had a newfoundland dog when I met him and never cared for small dogs but Buddy has won his heart. He slept on the floor last night when he got home so he make sure buddy wouldn't fall out of the bed. Thanks to you for being a friend today. I hope to stay in touch with every single person. I had to let you know he ate! |

| ![]() Paula he ate some crackers with the chicken broth just a few minutes ago! I think maybe he is getting back on track. What a relief. I know my son will be thrilled when he hears this. My husband was so relieved to see him eat. He works second shift and he seemed much less worried when he saw Buddy eating. Hopefully we is going to get back to normal. He usually has such an attitude. We all miss that! |

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | ![]() Great news! Anything you can get him to eat is great! (within reason) lol I hope he continues to perk up! I just kept offering Diggy anything and everything all the time. It is always encouraging to see them eat! Sounds like he is on his way up! Oh the reason I asked what time of the day he had his seizure was Diggy had his after not eating through the night and his blood sugar dropped! I had no idea what I was dealing with and had a lot of tests ran before we figured out what it was. I thought I was dealing with a liver condition. Ended up not to be ![]()

| ![]() Hi there! Glad your baby is eating a little cracker anyway! First let me say we all understand and we are here for you ![]() As for seizures, my Lexxi had seizures, cluster seizures, meaning she didn't stop! Almost always resulted in hospitalization ![]() ![]() But with your baby having something else going on, an infections, it could be that he simply doesnt feel good... I think the nutrical is a good idea, or karo syrup will do the trick. Also, right after a seizure, when they can safely swallow, (tho hopefully this was a fluke and you'll never have to deal with this again!) it is good to give them a small amount of all natural vanilla ice cream! Like Bryers. This boosts their sugar but the fat in the ice cream makes it so the sugar releases slowly-no sugar high and then a low. Again, there are some great suggestions already for food....I might try liverwurst too. I never even knew what it was till a couple weeks ago ![]() Anyway, wishing your Buddy a speedy recovery and NO MORE SEIZURES!! They are the worst...for his family moreso than him I think. Remember, a seizure doesn't hurt when they have one - but you should be sure they can't konk their head on something hard, or tile floor or what have you..... We're here if you need anything! Trina
