Thanks Yorkie Talk A big thank you to all of you... I frequently browse and occasionally post questions. I have found many answers here... I guess we all have the same concerns. My baby is 5.5 months and has been to the groomer once. I paid $25 and didn't like leaving him... not to meantioned she smokes in the place so it stinks... this is our only groomer in the small city I live in and the PetLand is 1.5 hours away and $40. So today I decided... how bad of a job could I do... my confidence comes from reading everyones posts and all the good advice I've found here. I used my husband hair clippers but now am going to invest in a dog grooming kit. I did alright for my first time and will probably just get better. I'm trying to post a pic for you all to see but don't really know how so hopefully it'll work. Just wanted to say thanks and show you my baby's new mommy done furcut!

| What a nice job you did! Aren't you proud of yourself? I always like doing my own boys, I kind of go by the idea if you have them then take care of them. Not to mention that having 3 groomed would put me in the poor house No, really, it is just fun to do. I just trim a little so I don't have to do a whole lot at one time, it's not totally professional but it does the job. Keep up the good work ...

Verrrry, verrry, good mommie!!!! I haven't tried yet, but I used to do poodles and cockers. I think I'll try to find a groomer to do the first one so I'll have a pattern to follow. LOL

Lookin' great! The more you do it, the easier it will be, plus, it's good to know that your baby's hands are in YOUR own hands! Good job getting up the courage to do it on your own!

You did a great job! I want to get confident enough to groom my Lexi. I hate leaving her too. Are there any sites on the web that i can use as visual aides to help know which part to cut and how to cut it. I don't know how to set the lengths on the kits to give a puppy cut etc. Again - you did a great job! I admire you!
