| Good for you, going back in and telling off the owner of the other dog. I know it didn't help you or your babies, but perhaps that dolt will think next time! (Perhaps she'll be fearful of running into someone with much less contril than you exhibited who WILL punch them out!) As my father used to say: "Some people's children....." |

| That makes me so mad!!! I feel the red neck coming out in me, I would love to kick her butt!! I better calm down, that is just terrible, I realize maybe she couldn't help it that her dog jumped out but she could have at the very least been concerned about yours. Wow some people are just so idiotic! Im so sorry for that horror you experienced |

| I don't even take SImon to those stores for fear of such things, even him being in the cart and another larger dog jumping up to the cart and getting him. I'ts a shame his well behaved self misses out on those outings because his mom has no trust in others. SO glad your baby is ok.... I'd have lost my mind and made a huge scene. You handled it repesctably. Jeni ETA: It's not even just about socialziing... Simon can get a little bratty around strange new dogs, but it's also very much about controlling your animal at all times. I never worry about him misbehaing, but others not having authority and letting their beasts run wild. Last edited by DMorgan; 06-07-2005 at 02:30 PM. |

| I would have chewed her out AND complained to management! I can't believe some people! And what's up with the store's attitude? If a dog is acting aggressively, you ask them to leave. Same as with people! Ugh. |

| You had more control than I would have. I'd have been screaming at that lady! And if I was in fear for my baby's life THAT dog might have been in some danger.....from ME! I'm not much to lose my temper and when I do it's very short lived but I am loud. The whole store would have known something was going on. Where the h*** was the manager when you went back in to give that lady what for? There COULD have been a fight.....with fists!!! And for the manager at a later date to say "they are not responsible for other customers animals and it is enter at your own risk"!!!???? They are a business, they have the right to refuse service!! There is no reason that if a dog attacks another on their premises that that dog can't be banned!! If a person can be banned from a regular store why couldn't a dog be banned from a pet store that allows pets to come in? I don't care what they say if my dog is attacked in their store, I think I have a case! I am going in there with the assumption that everyone else is controling their dogs as well as I am mine, and that my babies are safe on their property. Who in their right minds would take their dogs to a place where they EXPECT their babies to be attacked. Petsmart INVITES people to bring their babies, doesn't that sound like they take responsiblility for your baby being reasonably safe in their store? It does to me. My son had his Huskey taken away from our own yard for GROWLING at a police officer. The officer said the dog was a risk and ordered her taken. She was on a chain at the edge of our deck in the back yard and was NOT trying to get at him, she didn't even continue growling once a familiy member came out of the house. If this can happen I know a store has more control. BTW, I did agree with the officer or we would have fought it but she just didn't like people in uniform. Sylvia |

| I'm so glad Artie is OK! Fear of exactly that type of thing is why I always have Bo in his pet carrier when I go to Petsmart, the vet, or any place else. Some big stupid dog might look at him and say, "Yum, hor d'orves". Angie, your Pugzilla description cracked me up!

| I have a friend whose dog was bit in the face by another dog in Petsmart. The attack was seen by an employee who called the managers who insisted the vet at petsmart had to see the poor dog who was injured. The vet gave her an antibiotic injection, antibiotic spray, and antibiotics. The vet also wanted to see her back in 2 weeks and that lady whose dog attacked had to pay for the treatment which was around $100. You would think more stores would be responsible like this. Im too, am so relieved tha Artie was ok. |

| I am so happy artie was ok. Dog fights are horrible, even with tiny dogs. Excuse me to those of you complaining about children. I raised a very difficult child. Believe me, if he didn't have to be with me in public, I would not have brought him - EVER! I never knew when he would go crazy over nothing. He is 17 now and an extremely intellegent young man. I did not allow him to misbehave, and I am sure he had more discipline than 10 normal children. It hurt me deeply when my 'so called' friends would make such comments. And I made it a habit NOT to wish the same on them. Until you walk a mile in their moccasins........

| I have to admit I prolly would have went off like a cannon during the civil war. I can not stand people like that. It really ticks me off. And I am not one to sit there with my mouth shut. I will explode if I dont vent my anger. LOL My dogs are just like my children to me and I will do anything to protect them. Way to go on keeping your cool. |

| I have had similar situations in PS with the boys, so I keep them in the cart. With harnesses it is easy to keep them under control and other dogs cannot get them and anyone that approaches them means I have control over who touches my babies. I recommend the carts. |

| That was very scary. Im glad that Artie wasnt hurt. People like that do not deserve to have a dog. It really angers me that when you take your pup out you have to worry about others than do not care or control their animals. When I walk Gucci outside and I see a a dog coming by and I dont know them I always carry Gucci and walk the other way. I might be Paranoid, but I guess is best to be safe. Also I keep Gucci on her carrier when I take her to the vet or a store, etc. In a situation like that I dont know if I will have being able to keep my cool. Also the manager form that store didnt handle that properly. |

| You had way more control than I would have had. And thank ggodness that Artie wasn't hurt, that is the main thing. Poor baby was probly shocked!!! And I wish people had better pet manners. I am quickly learning thaat some people truly don't care and some so. This is my 1st pet ever and I am appauled by the way some people let there animals act. I am trying to train Luig to not run right up to people, and not jump on them and he his doing really well. He listens to me, and if he does get excited-- I will apologize to people. I wish people would care more!!!

| People like this don't need any dogs or kids for that matter. She is not only putting other peoples dogs in danger she is putting her only dogs life on the line. Dogs don't know that they are little. Some think they are 10ft tall. LIke some men I know.LOL I would of reported her to the store manager and if the store manager had any brains, they would have ask the lady not to bring her dog in the store anymore inless she could be sure she could contol it. It is people like this that reck it for all of us. the first time a dog gets kill and the owners sues. We will not beable to take our pets in with us any were. I say lets go get her.LOL and teach her a leason. Never mind, I think it would be easyer to teach the dog. Sound like it is smarter them the owner. |

| So glad Artie is ok. A few irresponsible pet owners can ruin it for everyone.
