| Does yours alert you when there's something outside? Otis sits on the back of the couch all night. When he see's a person, or kitty, or another dog he frieks out. If I'm sitting in the room he turns around and looks at me, and then keeps barking. If I'm in another room he runs to me, growling all the way, and then when he finds me he starts to bark again and runs back to the window. Does yours do that? I don't know if he wants to know where I am to protect me from the evil kitties, or if he wants me to come see what he see's, or why he does it. It cracks me up, I ask him "what is it" (like lassie) and he barks and takes off back to the window. Just wanted to see if anyone knows why?

| Usually, if Gracie sees something she wants to go play with it. She seldom barks. Interesting though, the other night, about 2 am, the neighbors came home and were really noisy. Their door slammed and it sounded just like our front door slamming. Gracie woke up and barked, and did not settle back down until she was sure no one was in the house. This was the first time she ever did that. Mommy's little protector!

| U wouldn't want to live in our house with Tiffanie and Sir. Galahad, They are barking if someone even scrapes our doors drives me nuts sometimes!!! I swear I'll hear Tiff going off and I'll tell her there's nothing or no one out there and I'll be dag gone if someone isn't walking down the street, she's got a nose that's really sensitive!!!!!!! She can smell from a mile away I say and yep they come get me or bark @ me until I go see and then they keep it up, she's a great watch dog. Hugs, Lee & Babies |

| My little guy goes on the back of the sofa and barks at the kids going to wait for the bus. He will also bark at joggers, animals and anything else going by. He will also come and bark at me, then run back to the window.

| Maybe its because Wobie's a puppy, but he's not a watchdog type AT ALL. Oh well...maybe it will come with age.

| My babies sleep soundly at night to get rested up -- they take the day shift and let me know anytime anything out of the ordinary happens. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Mine will let me know if someone is within 20 yard of my house...they'll even let me know when they THINK there's someone around...even if there isn't!

| Mine wouldn't let me know anything. His first bark was when he was about 6-7 months, if I'm not mistaken. He alerted me when someone was in my neighbor's yard breaking into her house but after that, I've never heard him bark again. I have to agree, my dog is pretty boring (can't jump, can't bark) |

| Seth barks when someone is coming down the lane, Sasha looks at him with disgust like will you be quiet, At night when we are in bed sometimes you can hear coyote (sp) howling and Seth will growl and bark at them. Sasha just moves closer to Daddy.

| My youngest Yorkie Tommy does the same thing! The other night he was staring at the grass barking and I thought maybe he had went off his rocker, but when I went over to were he was barking I noticed that there was a small "hill" developing. Our sprinkler pipe had broke! My older dog usually only barks when our youngest son is about to have a seizure!

| Oh yes, Oh yes, They also recognize the sound of each of our vehicles & will begin barking & jumping at the door before we are in the driveway. Sweet, but so noisy. They also begin barking for my attention if I'm on the phone or holding a grandchild |
