You can bet the road I am taking is to be done with her forever. I'll never contact her for anything - I have no reason to.
Funny....a complete stranger and wonderful breeder offered me her $3000 dog just because she felt bad about what has happened and I can't even get a boohoo outta Charlotte!
Yep, I think I have learned about "shopping" for a dog and I know I made a mistake by choosing Charlotte, and thanks to you guys here, I have a much better idea of what to look for and to ask!
So I assume Chanels breeder didn't help you out either?? Thank goodness you got her healthy and that her beauty made it all worth it (which isn't the point, I know)!! I wish I could meet your girls in person! And you of course

She may have said that out of guilt or to pacify you and probably never had any intention to help you. Ignoring you & Lexxie during the last few years says it all.

When it boils down - it's all about the money with some breeders. They can quote all the bible verse they want - but actions, ethics and reputation speak way louder...and it sounds like she just showed you how ethical she is....or should I say ISN'T.

Funny how some breeders can play so dumb and act like they've never heard of certain conditions (hydrocephalus). My Chanels breeder did the same thing when I told her Chanel had coccidia 4 days after bringing her home - she claimed she'd never heard of it too - yeah right

You can go 2 ways - never deal with her againm, do a review here and hope people see it ...or push her more and see if she makes an attempt to make it right - I don't see that happening though. I'm sorry she didn't care enough to help you thru the loss of your pretty girl - that really SUCKS!

(I'm sorry for your loss again) Rest in peace Lexxie.

Paula - YES! I agree! I know I am a very good mommy, and we are all here because we have that in common!
I got Vixxen and Truffles from the same breeder...we keep in touch via email and send pictures back and forth of our babies! I love seeing her pics and I know she loves hearing about the girls!
How is Otis now? What did you find out??

Wow.... Not one word of sympathy from the breeder.... that's really sad. You would think she could have said something.

I kept in touch with Jewel's breeder when we found out she was sick. She always replied to my emails but she never initiated one... Her replies were always sypathetic but I was kind of irked that she never sent me one first just to check in.

Your breeder is heartless. I sure hope she didn't continue to breed either of Lexxie's parents.

But you and I know if we could go back in time and have an opportunity to get Lexxie or Jewel again, we would go through all of it again without a doubt in our hearts.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I do think your breeder is being very insensitive. She didn't even say she's sorry that you lost little Lexxi??? That's just horrible, and I don't blame you for not wanting another of her pups. I don't know how people like that can live with themselves.

You bet your bippy I emailed her. She emailed back and wanted to know the address of the forum. I gave it to her. It would be nice if everybody sent her a slap on the wrist email.

I believe it was Edmund Burke who said, "All that is necessary for evil to flourish is for good men (and women) to do nothing." I am personally offended by anyone who quotes the Bible to make money.

I am sorry the breeder was so rude and cold hearted!! I could give away one of my babies without keeping in touch with the new owners.
You said nothing wrong, all you was asking for was some sympathy and to update her. Her response was rude and unneccessary.

So sorry about your baby, I know she had a great life with you.

No Chanels breeder didn't care one bit about what happened

When Chanel first showed symptoms I called her ...she said she'd be fine and it was the stress of a new home - like a dummy I believed her - and it got worse - an EMERGENCY Vet visit at 2am confirmed Coccidia ...

Coccidia is serious in a small puppy so I called to tell her what the vet told me and so she could take care of her other puppies ...and she played DUMB pretending she'd never heard of it -this coming from a breeder who CLAIMED to be breeding over 20 years...

she never took another call from me....

I'm so sorry that she's put more hurt on you, the last thing you need. I wouldn't feel comfortable getting another pup from her, what if that one had the same issue? I'm sure she's still breeding the parents of your dear Lexxi, as she seems to only see $$$$$$

My thoughts are with you. You gave that baby a good life in the time that she had

Funny how fast she emails YOU back but she ignores me

I told her I was on board(s) and I have nothing to hide...she could have asked me which ones as well.
So if she finds "me" I'm prepared for "fake" user names to suddenly and post wonderful lies about her!!!
It's sad that it had to come to this - about me feeling bitter and wanting everyone to know about her. All she would have had to do was say "I'm sorry."

I know...it is bizzarre to me the things are turning out! I would have never looked for another baby - especially so soon....yet this one was practically set in my lap! AND BY A VERY GOOD BREEDER, no less!
I have both my breeder friends checking into her as well.....They do the shows etc....

Don't you just sit there with a dropped jaw and think "wow! how can people be so cold?" And then of course, like you say, you have to wonder if she bothered to test/treat the others in the litter or just ignored your warning?
