| Pine Tree Resin? Does anyone have a suggestion for removing this from yorkie coats? My husband cut limbs from our pine tree. resin is pouring like honey. I have three in long coats. Two out of the three got in it. One, I was able to cut her hair on her foot and leg so that the top hair covers it. but, poor little Ceeby is butchered. his face was glued to his neck hair and one of his legs and hips had to be almost cut to the skin. I am so upset. Ceeby will be two in July and it has taken this long for his beautiful, ssilky coat to grow to the ground. i am going to bath him later today and try to shape his little hair up but wanted to see if anyone knew anything that might bring this out. He still has some that i didn't cut out yet and hope to not have to. Thanks |

| Dee I have no clue but maybe you could put something like dawn on it and soak it for a few minutes....I have no clue, but it will take grease out and stuff from clothes...

| I have heard vaseline is good for removing things like pine resin and chewing gum from hair, but haven't ever tried it...oh that would have to be such a mess...good luck and I hope you find something that helps.

| Have you tried ice? I remember my mom used to put ice on gum to freeze it, and then she would pick the gum out.......

| Dee... I would try the ice...it will turn it hard and maybe it will just break off. If not, try butter or peanut butter and a fine toothed comb. It might work. I have had to use dishwashing liquid on Trini & Coco before to get oil out of their hair and it worked wonders but I am not sure if it will help you. Anything is worth a try...I'm sorry

| If nothing else works, I would try Avon Skin-so-Soft. I have a list of things that it is supposed to be good for and one of them is removing road tar from your car and another is removing the gummy residue on glassware caused by price tags. Just a thought. Good luck!

| Max got into some last night. I gave him a bath and scrubbed the area with the shampoo. I think it may have gotten some out but it definitely didn't get all of it. I used a flea comb while I dried him but I felt like I was pulling his hair. I did get it all out but the method I used didn't seem to be the most effective. I'm curious to see of the peanut butter works since it's supposed to get gum out of hair.
